Ran poorly when last seen on the Flat but had shaped a little better prior to that on her return to action over hurdles. Four-time hurdles winner and was going through a good spell when last victorious over timber; drop in grade should suit.
Trainer has a very respectable record at the track although on what this one has shown so far in Ireland a fair turn around in form is needed. Takes a considerable drop in class though; not ignored if there is a positive market move for her.
Found some support on her first run for this yard at Perth recently (ridden by good conditional); showed very little though. Leading rider now takes over and that run may have brought her on; chance at this lowly level.
Bred to be useful but hasn't lived up to those expectations so far despite showing some promise on her bumper debut. Still has little solid form over hurdles over various trips; hard to enthuse over her chance.
Now in the veteran stage of her career with plenty of breaks punctuating any of her outings. Fared relatively well at Warwick in November (2m5f) in a weak handicap; a repetition of that form would see her competitive in this.
Won an Irish PTP on debut but her career since then when switched to race under Rules has very much had a downward trajectory. Back over hurdles having shown little over fences of late; very hard to make a case for.
Forecasts
Kildaven Spider (11/4), Mileva Roller (3/1), Russian Royale (7/2), Kilcullen Lady (9/2), Pennies And Pounds (6/1), Ridgeway Pearl (7/1)
An unappetising affair which features mostly out of form and regressive mares’ and it makes little appeal as a betting medium. RUSSIAN ROYALE does at least have some winning form to her name dropping back to her last winning mark and she’s given a very tentative vote to go one better than her ½ length second last year. Pennies And Pounds despite her advancing years and infrequent appearances is taken to give her the most to do especially if she can repeat her Warwick handicap run. Kildaven Spider has yet to show much but wouldn’t be a surprise improver for the Julia Brooke yard with son Henry (good record around here) taking the ride.
