Made steady rather than spectacular progress under Rules over hurdles (dual Irish point-to-point winner); off the mark at the third attempt. Confirmed the promise of his previous run to beat four rivals at Kempton; has to concede a penalty.

Pulled up more often than not in point-to-points and it's much the same story under Rules (only completed once in last three starts over fences). Now returns to hurdles but fails to make any appeal at all.

Irish point-to-point winner whose form under Rules hasn't gone to plan so far (failed to fire over fences twice). Back over hurdles when last seen he had the race at his mercy (swerved and unseated rider on run-in); cheekpieces now worn first-time.

Dual winner on the Flat at up to 1m2f (scored in a handicap off 78) but his hurdling exploits so far can only be described as low-key. Would have been well behind Sunset Showdown last time but for that one's late mishap; could do better.

Forecast

Sunset Showdown (4/6), No Hidden Charges (5/4), Vivre Pour Vivre (25/1), Mon Garcon Frankie (100/1)

Verdict

Not much of a contest and the main interest will surround SUNSET SHOWDOWN who threw away a race at Ludlow last time out with his antics on the run-in unseating Aidan Coleman who takes the ride again with the race won. Connections put cheekpieces on him this time and it’s hoped that the headgear can keep him on the straight and narrow. No Hidden Charges has to concede a penalty to his main rival and using official ratings as a guide he would face a stiff enough test even without that extra impost. Vivre Pour Vivre was technically a long way behind the selection last time and if he behaves himself this time that scenario should stay the same.
  1. Sunset Showdown
  2. No Hidden Charges
  3. Vivre Pour Vivre
