Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Paul Townend| T: T Mullins
9/4
Gelding by Scorpion out of a Luso who cost €12,000 as a three-year-old. Well held in a couple of initial hurdles starts before two bumper defeats in recent months. Good chance handicaps will suit better.
2
Horse silk
4/1
Failed to finish in a couple of points and hasn't fared much better so far over hurdles, though did show a marked improvement earlier this month at Downpatrick. One to consider.
3
Horse silk
Clouncerna9
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: D F O'Regan| T: J R Barry
33/1
Unfancied when pulled up on his hurdles debut at Cork in April before finishing seventh of 10 beaten 25L in a Kilbeggan 2m4f maiden hurdle on good ground earlier this month. Hard to fancy on overall evidence and others hold stronger claims.
4
Horse silk
Dix De Der167
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Phillip Enright| T: R Tyner
66/1
Point-to-point winner who has shown little in a bumper and three spins over hurdles. Sent off at 33/1 on latest start at Clonmel when last seen in December and probably best watched for now.
5
Horse silk
Magistralisp1268
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Sean Flanagan| T: Miss E Doyle
40/1
Gelding by Muhtathir out of a Barathea mare. Closely related to Pacha Du Polda. Well held in three below par efforts in bumpers, including when last seen in August. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about required improvement on hurdling bow.
7
Horse silk
Shawshank118
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: B J Cooper| T: P Nolan
5/2
Presenting gelding out of a Fair Mix mare. Winner of two of his three career point-to-point starts. Well held and never nearer in a couple of career chase starts to date. Liable to find a couple stronger.
8
Horse silk
Storm Flight16
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Ricky Doyle(5)| T: C O'Dwyer
10/1
Gelding by Haatef out of a Marju mare. Half-brother to the handy Estibdaad and Danz Gift. Marked improvement finishing fifth in a 20-runner Down Royal contest over 2m earlier this month. Step up in trip not sure to suit.
9
Horse silk
Tibetan Gold13
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: L P Dempsey| T: W J Burke| OR:  90
40/1
Stowaway gelding with little to recommend him based on five starts in maiden hurdles so far. Tough to see where improvement is coming from to play a role in this contest.
10
Horse silk
Yendo41
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: J R Wildman(7)| T: G Elliott
7/1
Showed signs of greenness and promise on debut but has failed to progress in three maiden hurdle starts since. Cannot be completely dismissed representing leading yard.
11
Horse silk
10/1
100/1 fourth at Wexford in March her first glimmer ability and filled the same position there next after being well held at Tramore. Fourth (again) in a 10-runner Clonmel maiden earlier this month. Open to more improvement.

Try Dollys Sister6
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: C J Orr(5)| T: P G Fahey| OR:  91
20/1
Big prices and yet to get anywhere near to being competitive over hurdles so far. No impression in third when making a mistake and unseating at the last in a Clonmel maiden earlier this month. Out of sorts recently and this looks a tough ask.

Forecasts

Big Tree (9/4), Shawshank (5/2), Black Market (4/1), Yendo (7/1), Araukan (10/1), Storm Flight (10/1), Pat Coyne (14/1), Try Dollys Sister (20/1), Clouncerna (33/1), Magistralis (40/1), Tibetan Gold (40/1), Dix De Der (66/1)

Verdict

Trainer Henry De Bromhead may have found an ideal opportunity for his Yeats gelding, BLACK MARKET to solve a tricky opening race puzzle. The five-year-old showed plenty of improvement on his latest start at Downpatrick and can get the better of the luckless, Araukan and the Gordon Elliott-trained Yendo.
  1. Black Market
  2. Araukan
  3. Yendo
