Gained first win since 2015 when winning a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Exeter in May 2018. Ran well when runner-up in corresponding event recently, but has never convinced as a chaser in the past.

Won three times in 2017/18, but below form on the whole last season, and a visor is refitted on his return from an absence now. Something to prove.

Fairly useful handicap hurdler. Much better effort in this sphere when 24L third of 6 to Kings Temptation in handicap at Fontwell two weeks ago. Needs to step up again, but can't be taken lightly.

Not the force of old, and probably flattered when fourth of five finishers here on his penultimate start. Well beaten last time, and makes limited appeal again.

Blew out and his favourite track on penultimate start, but bounced back returned to fences when winning at Plumpton last time under this rider. Vulnerable under a penalty given he scrambled home there, but not dismissed.

Won at Fontwell in March, and ran at least as well when runner-up at Wincanton (3m1f) last time. Should go well again off the same mark.

Yet to match his hurdles form over fences although he looked to be getting the hang of things in a couple of runs before pulling up at Ludlow in November. May get back on track after a break with his yard among the winners of late.

Ten-race maiden who unseated in a 3m novices' handicap chase at Bangor last month when returning from a break, and may still have needed the run when well beaten last time. Hard to fancy, all the same.

Forecasts

Max Forte (11/4), Cap Horner (3/1), Desert Sensation (7/2), Riddlestown (13/2), Scottshill (10/1), Monsieur Arkadin (10/1), Shady Glen (14/1), Silver Man (33/1)

Verdict

None of these is rock-solid, but CAP HORNER arrives in good form after going close at Wincanton, and can go well off the same mark. Monsieur Arkadin comes back from a break with his yard firing in winners, and he's well enough treated to get involved, especially based on his hurdles ability, and Desert Sensation is another that remark applies to.
  1. Cap Horner
  2. Desert Sensation
  3. Monsieur Arkadin
