Placed over hurdles at Ayr (3m, soft) in January but tailed off at Newcastle a couple of months later; runner-up on sole PTP start; has the pedigree for chasing (debut) as a half-brother to the 2012 Eider Chase runner up Posh Bird.
Has jumped well and raced prominently throughout when winning over C&D on each of his last two starts; 10lb higher than when beating Exit To Where by 2½L (has the measure of For Jim); sets the clear benchmark.
Dual bumper scorer for Keith Dalgleish; badly lost his way over hurdles, plunging down the handicap as a result; steadily getting back on track for new connections with a string of placed efforts; rules chasing debut (1-7 in PTP's).
Off the mark at the third attempt over fences despite making a mistake at the last when rallying to beat Alto Des Mottes by a neck (Uttoxeter 3m, good); has an 8lb rise to overcome; plenty of work to do with Prince Dundee.
20-race rules maiden (0-11 over fences); placed on four of his six previous Hexham starts; entitled to benefit for his recent comeback run at Carlisle, albeit others are preferred.
16-race maiden; left toiling on chasing debut over 2m4f here earlier in the month (125/1); can't be considered in any shape of form from so far out of the handicap; confidently look elsewhere.

Forecasts
Prince Dundee (13/8), For Jim (15/8), Chanceanotherfive (5/1), Spinning Scooter (6/1), Eager To Know (11/1), Shtan On (20/1), Ciarabella (25/1), The Conn (28/1)
With four of the eight declared runners being long-standing maidens this race won't take much winning. Therefore, despite a 10lb rise in the weights for a second C&D win PRINCE DUNDEE is fully expected to land the hat-trick for Lucinda Russell and Blair Campbell. He holds the Jennie Candlish-trained For Jim on previous C&D form, and although that 7yo gelding took a rather sizeable step forward when winning at Uttoxeter, he wasn't wholly foot perfect in doing so.
