Took his first two starts over hurdles with a degree of ease before being outclassed in the Listed Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle at Wetherby; showed up positively until fading on reappearance at Market Rasen (2m) last month; 3lb lower.
Won twice over hurdles in France for G.Macaire, including in a Cholet claimer (2m1f, good) in September 2018; has fallen twice in four starts for Micky Hammond (hurdles and fences); continues to slide dramatically down the weights.
Enjoyed a totally uncontested lead when notching a seventh win at Hexham recently, staying on strongly to beat Desert Island Dusk by 15L; drops back in trip tonight (presents no problems); faces competition for the lead off a 7lb higher mark.
Came in for strong and sustained market support when breaking his hurdles duck over C&D (novices') 17-days ago, beating main market rival Dr Hooves by 3½L; no reason as to why he shouldn't give his running again now switched to handicapping.
Won twice during the summer of 2018 (Kelso and Perth), but has found life much tougher since sent handicapping; returns from a 185-day absence slipping slowly down the weights; one to keep an eye upon for the future (not today).
Campaigned mainly up north since joining Richard Hobson (nose winner of a 2m Newcastle juvenile maiden in January); returned to a more suitable level when putting in a solid front-running shift behind a Gordon Elliott-trained winner at Perth latest.
Forecasts
For Three (11/8), Beyondtemptation (3/1), Fanzio (4/1), Placedela Concorde (5/1), Ormesher (16/1), Horst (20/1)
Not the easiest of races to fathom the probable chain of events. However with the much respected Fanzio in the line-up, and the regular pace-setter Ormesher also present and correct, Miss Hexham herself Beyondtemptation almost certainly won't have things all her own way up front as was the case when she romped to victory over 2m4f here ten days ago. Therefore, we'll chance that the shrewd Brian Hughes can tuck in behind the pace aboard the recent smooth course winner (novices') FOR THREE and pounce late on as others begin to slowly wilt and flounder for their earlier exertions.
- For Three
- Fanzio
- Beyondtemptation
