Cost 30,000 gns as a foal but makes belated debut wearing a tongue tie. Fourth foal and half-brother to smart handicapper You're Fired. Yard not associated with maiden winners.

33 race maiden rated just 42 and tailed off in a seller last week. Makes no appeal even in this modest contest.

No real promise in pair of maidens on the AW last autumn and probably of more interest in handicaps after this.

Showed a modicum of ability when midfield in 6f debut last June at Thirsk but presumably had issues since and best watched here unless market indicates otherwise.

£2,000 yearling. First foal. Dam was a maiden who stayed 1m6f. Market should guide but others make more appeal on paper.

40/1 but not disgraced when 6L sixth of 11 on 7f Redcar debut last autumn when with Brian Ellison. Interesting to see how he compares in betting to stable companion Fasterkhani.

Enjoyed the step up to 7f when staying on second of six on turf debut here recently giving the impression the extra furlong today will suit. One of the more likely types on form.

A little ability in pair of maidens last backend but bettered that when staying on nicely at Wetherby on reappearance. Shapes as though the extra furlong today will help and worth consideration.

200/1 and readily left behind when last of six on 7f debut here recently so not hard to look elsewhere.
Seventh foal. Closely related to winners such as Speed Ticket, Cheetah and Diamond Mine who all won at 1m2f plus. Dam won over 1m4f. On breeding this trip could be a bit sharp, but this is a weak contest so has to be taken seriously.

Tailed off last at 250/1 in pair of maidens this spring and impossible to make a case for.

Unfancied 25/1 on soft ground Haydock last month. Showed nothing but the experience may bring her on as could the better ground today.

Forecasts

Puzzle (15/8), Risaala (5/2), Don't Jump George (11/2), Kirstenbosch (7/1), The Rutland Rebel (12/1), Coco Motion (18/1), Universal Effect (33/1), Calevade (33/1), Gordalan (40/1), Fasterkhani (66/1), Henrietta's Dream (200/1), Freshfield Ferris (300/1), Pandora's Minder (300/1)

Verdict

A weak maiden with little depth to it and the newcomer Kirstenbosch won't need to be anything special to make a winning debut but this trip could be a tad sharp on breeding and RISAALA has shown to suggest a race like this is withing her range. Puzzle looks best of the rest.
  1. Risaala
  2. Kirstenbosch
  3. Puzzle
