Maintained profile of steady improvement to win at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm; 5-2f) on reappearance in early April and not disgraced in slightly strong race at Beverley 15 days later. Contender down in class with mark left alone now.
Leicester seller winner over 6f in April and made winning start for new trainer at Chepstow (7f, good; 8-1) this month. Filly doesn't have many miles on the clock and manner of that success suggests 7lb more won't stop her giving this a go.
Harbour Watch gelding, produced much the best of four efforts as a juvenile in 6f soft-ground contest around here, though subsequently well-held in nursery at Pontefract. Should have a bit more to offer this term now going handicapping.
Showed some ability in three starts in novice events last year, before he was well held on handicap debut at Ayr (heavy ground not ideal). Decent third of 14 at Leicester (7f, good to firm) on comeback, chance to build on that having eased 2lb.
Career-best to win 7f Brighton handicap (good to firm; 11-1) this month on the nod. Has gone up 4lb but entitled to do better and likeable attitude shown there bodes well.
Scored on debut last summer on Newcastle's AW but didn't come forward in pair of turf novices (including here) afterwards. Had more in hand than winning margin suggested when scoring at Pontefract on reappearance and 4lb rise may underestimate her.
Quick ground Beverley nursery winner (7½f) for Tom Dascombe in August 2018. Not been in the best of form in three starts so far this year but has dropped accordingly. More to prove than a good few of these.
Clear signs of ability in three novice events last year over 7f-1m on varying ground. Sent off 50-1 on handicap bow at Haydock (1m, soft) last month and beaten 7L in sixth of 15. Eased 3lb, has more to find clearly.
11-race maiden, lacks the form in the book to warrant supporting despite handicap mark continuing to tumble.
Farhh filly, no form of note in four starts last year, including when upped to 7f at Chester on final outing in September (just over 10L fourth of six). Looks up against it on seasonal/handicap bow.
Forecasts
Wild Hope (5/2), City Tour (5/2), Gale Force Maya (6/1), Barasti Dancer (7/1), Plumette (9/1), Euro No More (11/1), Five Helmets (20/1), Flint Said No (20/1), Alfred The Grey (40/1), Lady Kinsale (80/1)
GALE FORCE MAYA seemed to have more in hand that a narrow margin suggested at Chepstow early in the month and there should be a bit more to come from Michael Dods' filly here in the follow-up attempt. This is not straightforward however, with another Chepstow scorer, Plumette, heading the dangers and much-respected. City Tour, Barasti Dancer and Wild Hope combine to make this an open event with plenty options.
- Gale Force Maya
- Plumette
- City Tour
