Winner of five races ran well when third over 6f at Chelmsford recently although was disappointing at Brighton next over 5f where she stopped quite quickly. Others preferred after that.
In decent form from similar marks on AW of late, his latest Kempton third deserving some credit from a poor draw. Midfield since after a slow start at Leicester back on turf however so step up needed.
Hit and miss over trips from 7f-5f since the turn of the year but recent runs not seen him getting any nearer. Not done enough of late to recommend.
Winner at Doncaster last September was far from disgraced latest when fourth at Leicester. Gets 1lb back and this sub-standard by HQ standards so he has pretty sound claims.
Only beaten 2½L into fourth of 15 at Ascot latest off this mark. Would never be one you could describe as consistent but that run would give him a real chance here.
Does most of her racing on AW at Lingfield these days and won there last August. Unplaced there in subsequent four and back on turf after a break she faces a few doubts.
Seems to like Chepstow where he won for a second time just three days ago which is already a second win this season (third in between). In great form and could be capable of winning despite 4lb penalty.
Wolverhampton winner last November but has beaten a total of two rivals in four starts since. Less exposed on turf but still hard to fancy.
Sent off at 50-1 when respectable seventh of 19 at Doncaster in March but last of 14 since over same C&D dampened enthusiasm here.
Chelmsford winner started four-year-old season with excellent staying on third over 6f at Doncaster off this mark. Interesting she now wears blinkers but if they help she has a real chance.
After a spell in the doldrums he finally showed some spark latest when third of 13 at Windsor only beaten a neck where he led 50 yards from home. Same mark here and with new found enthusiasm he should go close again.
Forecasts
Major Valentine (5/2), Suzi's Connoisseur (7/2), Big Lachie (7/1), Madrinho (9/1), National Glory (10/1), Emily Goldfinch (12/1), Lethal Angel (12/1), Human Nature (12/1), Valley of Fire (16/1), Seprani (25/1), Rockies Spirit (40/1)
In-form MAJOR VALENTINE is turned around quickly under a 4lb penalty but his Chepstow win on Tuesday suggested he was at least that ahead of the handicapper so he is taken to follow up. Both of National Glory and Lethal Angel come here on the back of solid thirds and such form should be enough to again see them firmly in the thick of the action here.
- Major Valentine
- National Glory
- Lethal Angel
