Dubawi colt; finished a neck second to Landa Beach on debut at Newbury (1m, good to soft) in October; played up pre-race on seasonal reappearance when flopping at odds of 4/7f at Haydock (1m4f); drops in trip on a faster racing surface.

Haafhd gelding; well beaten at big odds on both starts to date (7f-1m); today's longer trip is almost certainly in his favour, albeit comfortably out of his depth against these opponents.
150,000gns juvenile; is clearly a work in progress and is getting more proficient with greater racing experience; must significantly better his Yarmouth (1m) ninth of 14 to the Gosden-trained King Of Comedy; stablemate of Youarestar.
Sea The Stars colt; 190,000gns foal who fetched a whopping 1,000,000gns as a yearling; first foal from a German 1m2½f winning dam; monitor the market vibes for clues.

125,000gns yearling; fifth foal who is closely related to the useful stayer Altra Vita; half-brother to a pair of Flat winners which include Alumna (1m-1m1f); stablemate of fellow newcomer Albadr.
Fourth foal from a 1m2f winner (Satwa Pearl); half-brother to two winners, Atticus Boy (1m3f-1m4f) and the dual purpose scorer Take A Turn (1m2f Flat-2m4f hurdle).
Dansili gelding from a Group 3 winning dam (Illustrious Miss); ninth foal; half-brother to four winners including the UAE 1,000 Guineas scorer Gamilati; sold unraced by Godolphin for 8,500gns.

15th foal; half-sister to seven winners including the St Leger second High Accolade and the hardy Oasis Knight (1m1f-1m5f); not for today against these opponents, but one to keep a close eye on for the future.

Forecasts

Apparate (7/4), Youarestar (9/2), Albadr (5/1), Mr Carpenter (11/2), Dilmun Dynasty (7/1), Harrovian (10/1), Triple Genius (20/1), Crystal Tribe (25/1), Carleen (33/1), Noble Account (50/1), Best Haaf (100/1)

Verdict

An intriguing maiden in which both John Gosden (Albadr and Harrovian) and William Haggas (Crystal Tribe and Youarestar) are both doubly represented. However, this race also features other horses of note, namely the Godolphin cast-off Noble Account and the 1m Guineas yearling DILMUN DYNASTY who makes his debut for Sir Michael Stoute. In truth the best place to turn for advice is to the market, with the form horse Apparate another worthy of a mention in the hope and expectation that he doesn't repeat his Haydock Park pre-race antics.
  1. Dilmun Dynasty
  2. Albadr
  3. Apparate
