Winner of both starts last season most recently over 2m4f at Sedgefield (good) in a novice hurdle last month. Returning from a break that day and strong claims of making a winning chase debut stepping up in distance.
Returned from wind surgery with a 2L victory in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Sandown (soft) in March. Pulled up in a Grade 3 handicap next time out. Returns to fences for first time since pulling up at Chepstow (good-to-soft) in January.
Improved on chase debut when finishing 12L second over an extended 2m7f at Lingfield (soft) in January. Absent since and is a notable runner on his return from a break.
Grade 1 winner in a novice hurdle at Aintree (good) in 2017. Lightly raced since and interesting having been highly tried in Graded company on both previous starts over fences.
Course winner but disappointing in both chase starts so far most recently switched to handicap company at Exeter (2m3f, good) last month. Cheekpieces and tongue tie worn that day replaced with blinkers (first time) for this event.
Forecasts
Forza Milan (7/4), Dead Right (2/1), Pingshou (11/4), Lovenormoney (7/1), Potters Story (25/1)
DEAD RIGHT is taken to make his first start over fences a winning one with a victory in this competitive small field novices' chase. The selection can get the better of Forza Milan who is making his return to fences here while third place can go to Pingshou who is another returning to fences after a couple of starts over hurdles.
