Finished runner-up on final two starts of 2018 including in a 1m2f novice event at Pontefract (good-to-soft) in October. Step up in trip looks likely to suit on handicap and seasonal debut.
Good 2L third in a 1m2f contest on handicap debut at Nottingham (good-to-firm) last month. Below that form when 13L second in a small field contest at Brighton (1m4f) later that month however. Blinkers replace cheekpieces worn last time out.
Successful by 3L in a novice race over an extended 1m1f here in March. Struggled on soft ground when making his handicap debut at Nottingham (1m2f) last week and likely capable of better.
Promising efforts on first two starts at two but disappointing the last twice most recently when ninth of ten on handicap debut at Ripon (1m, good) last month. Cheekpieces tried for the first time stepping up markedly in distance.
Regressed since finishing a neck second over 1m at Kempton last October. Well held on handicap and seasonal debut at Nottingham (1m2f, good-to-soft) a fortnight ago and others make more appeal.
Signs of ability in three starts so far including when third over an extended 1m1f here in January. Given a break since and worth a check in the market upped in trip on handicap debut.
Struggled when 10L last of seven over 1m2f at Nottingham (good-to-firm) on handicap debut last time out. Cheekpieces tried for the first time stepping up in trip on AW debut.
Well held in all three starts so far most recently when sixth on good ground at Redcar (1m2f) last month. More needed stepping up in trip on handicap bow.
Career best effort in finishing third over C&D two weeks ago. First attempt at this distance that day and is a notable runner for a stable with a 25% strike-rate (3/12) in recent weeks.
Promising fourth over C&D on debut for this yard last month. Weakening when hampered here subsequently and wears a visor for the first time in this contest.
Forecasts
Gravistas (6/5), Nabbeyl (3/1), Dark Miracle (6/1), Awesomedude (12/1), Robert Fitzroy (14/1), Gino Wotimean (22/1), Hen (25/1), Garrison Commander (33/1), Tasman Sea (40/1), Gabrial The Giant (40/1)
NABBEYL hails from a top yard and the application of blinkers can see him register a victory in this three-year-old only handicap. The selection remains open to improvement and he can see off top weight Gravistas who is tackling this trip for the first time. Third place can go the way of Hen who has placed over C&D in the past.
