Both runs at around 7f, runner-up on debut, and improved when filling the same spot at Southwell last month despite being turned over at a skinny price. Will stay this trip, and should progress again.
Made late headway after a slow start on Nottingham debut in October, but always behind after again missing the break at Newmarket last month, and cannot afford to give these a start.
Much better effort to date when fifth of 14 in a 1¼m novice at Redcar on debut, but couldn't sustain the gallop when well held at Newcastle last time. Drop in trip may help, but others stronger.
Habitual slow starter who ran well when close fifth in a 7f handicap here last month, but blew out badly at Haydock last time. Big chance on pick of his form, but comes with risks.
Promising run when second over 1m at Newcastle in February, but soon done with after leading there last time, and, and has plenty on her plate here.
Forecasts
Cape Victory (10/11), Spirit Of Lund (5/2), Simon's Smile (5/1), Smeaton (25/1), Catch My Breath (33/1), Farrdhana (40/1)
CAPE VICTORY was an expensive failure at Southwell last time, but he looked unlucky not to collect there, and appeals as the one to beat with this longer trip sure to suit. He's preferred to Simon's Smile, who seemed to appreciate the return to turf last time, and can go well if building on that. Spirit of Lund has a solid chance on the best of his form, for all he ran badly last time.
