Won three times on the Flat for Hugo Palmer (OR 81), the latest at Catterick (1m4f, good) in October, after which he changed hands for 34,000gns. Improved on second start over timber finishing second of 14 at Sligo. Leading player.
Off the mark at the fifth time of asking on the Flat when landing a 1m4f rated contest at Dundalk on the AW when last seen in January. Likely to have been well-prepped for hurdling debut and one to have onside.
Lethal Force gelding out of a Kyllachy mare. Dam placed over 7f as a two-year-old. Nothing of note in two desolate maiden hurdle efforts and unlikely to be playing a part in the finish here.
Gelding by Yeats out of a Norwich mare. Dam dual winner of two chase contests. Likely to come on for the experience on debut.
Feel Like Dancing gelding out of a Useful mare. Last seen on the Flat in France. Can't be ruled out on debut, particularly if subject of market support.
Gelding by Cokoriko out of a Cadoudal mare. Cost €20,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother French 1m4f - 1m7f Flat winner Biennale. More needed on the back of a couple of poor maiden hurdle efforts in March.
Gelding by Jeremy out of a Topanoora mare. Cost €14,000 (Vendor) as a three-year-old. Dam unplaced in a number of point-to-point and hurdle starts. Best watched on debut.
Westerner gelding out of a Anshan mare. Brother to useful 2m1f hurdle winner Magnium. Looks a long term prospect.
Gelding by Urban Poet out of a Be My Guest mare. Brother to 2m bumper and hurdle winner Golden Poet. Worth a market check representing yard who have a 30% win and place strike rate in the last month.
Gelding by Yeats out of a Presenting mare. Dam unraced half-sister to French 2m3f Listed hurdle winner Cheyne. Likely to improve from this debut run.
Recital gelding out of a Rainbow Quest mare. Well beaten in a couple of bumper starts since the turn of the year including finishing last of seven at Punchestown on latest start start.
Filly by Zambezi Sun out of a Peintre Celebre mare. Cost €58,000 last year. Possibly best watched on third hurdle start following a couple of below par efforts unless market suggests otherwise.
Well beaten and no impression on first couple of starts over hurdles since the turn of the year but not easily dismissed for a yard with a decent record at this meeting in the last fours years.
Filly by Thewayyouare out of a Linamix mare. Half-sister to French 1m2f - 1m4f Flat and 2m3f hurdle winner Grinamix. Likely to be in need of the experience on debut.
Forecasts
Morning Skye (5/2), Stronghold (11/4), Melburnian (5/1), Feel Des Mottes (6/1), Imperial Choice (8/1), Optum (25/1), Frere Fontaine (25/1), Spiritus Mundi (25/1), Cahirdown Boy (33/1), Thousand Tears (33/1), Mary Ellis (66/1), Jiving Jerry (66/1), Poets Mountain (66/1), All The Angels (100/1)
Four-year-old gelding by Famous Name, MORNING SKYE can take the opener he bids to improve on his second of 14 at Sligo last month. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Stronghold can emerge as the biggest danger here making his hurdling debut, while Melburnian for trainer Tony Martin can battle for the minor honours. The Charles Byrnes-trained Imperial Choice can go well at a price.
- Morning Skye
- Stronghold
- Melburnian
