Poor point-to-pointer is hooded for rules debut. Yard in the midst of a quiet spell and he is hard to recommend.
2
Horse silk
100/1
Makes little appeal on his point-to-point and rules form. Has been well beaten at big prices on three starts for this yard when failing to feature at any point.
Steadily improving from a modest base but still needs to brush up his jumping. The fact he went off at 33/1 for a minor race last time tells you all you need to know about where he stands in the pecking order at Seven Barrows.
Bumper winner at Senonnes-Pouance (1m7f, soft) in October last year but has barely beaten a rival since arriving here. Much to prove on hurdling debut.

Tailed off in two bumpers and last month's hurdling debut. Impossible to recommend on what he's shown us thus far.

10/1
Easy winner of a Kirkistown point-to-point that has turned out to be a decent race. Bought by powerful connections for £55,000 and worth checking in the market given the trip may be on the short side.
Showed some ability in Irish bumpers without showing signs of improvement. Switched yards for £16,000 and not highly tried if adapting to hurdles. Likely to need further.

Seemed to be going the right way until a blowout at Ludlow. Has had wind surgery since and respected for top yard with champion jockey on board. Stable also have Eaglehill so the market should be informative.

Tel'art17
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: D A Jacob| T: B Pauling
16/1
Made all to land a Bangor bumper but he has made a dreadful start to his hurdling career. Better ground did not produce the improvement anticipated last time.

8/15
Smart bumper form includes a defeat of Harambe in 2018 and an excellent second in Grade 2 Aintree bumper a month ago. Will take all the beating in a race as poor as this if he can jump.
11
Horse silk
100/1
Showed some ability on bumper debut in March. Has not jumped well enough to figure on either hurdling start when finishing well in rear.
12
Horse silk
50/1
Black Sam Bellamy filly from a family the trainer knows well being a sister to 2m4f hurdle winner Maybell and half-sister to four-time winner Big Jim. Application of a hood on debut suggests she may be green or quirky so best watched in either case.

Forecasts

Thebannerkingrebel (8/15), Gateway To Europe (4/1), Some Boy Mccoy (7/1), Eaglehill (10/1), Tel'art (16/1), Commander Miller (20/1), Darling Alko (40/1), Sitron (50/1), Dorado Dollar (66/1), Bells Of Peterboro (100/1), Cobra Commander (100/1), Clondaw Sam (100/1)

Verdict

This is a moderate contest and THEBANNERKINGREBEL will be hard to beat if translating his bumper form to this new discipline. Olly Murphy saddles two with the market likely to guide on the prospects of point-to-point winner Eaglehill and Some Boy Mccoy who has been operated on since a poor run last time. Gateway To Europe could repay each-way support on his debut for a new yard who are in form, but Commander Miller and Tel'art are proving disappointing.

  2. Gateway To Europe
  3. Eaglehill
