Ridden too aggressively in valuable contest last time and not disgraced in hot handicap at Aintree on Grand National day when sent off just 6/1. This is considerably weaker than those contests and looks sure to play a major role.

Rarely seen over hurdles these days (first run here since 2016). Runs some good races over fences and recent spin on the AW should put an edge on him.

Out of sorts since Gowran win in October and didn't look as though he stayed on only other try at this trip.

Was looking hit and miss but better when backed for a valuable handicap at Cork last time when third off this mark and a repeat in this company should see him go close.

Ozzie's Wayt20

Front runner who was in good heart in the autumn but has shown little in two runs following a break and bit to prove at present.

Age: 5|  Weight: 10-9| J: D J McInerney(3)| T: A Leahy| OR:  108

Limerick winner in November but well below that form two runs since, including after a break and yet to convince he stays this far.
7

Pilgrim Way19
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-9| J: Sean Flanagan| T: M A Cahill| OR:  108| D

Off the track for 3 years, but huge run on return when just caught close by an in-form rival over 2m at Cork last month. Stays this trip and big chance if building on that but quick run back after long lay off prior is a concern.

Will be happier now back over hurdles and two standout efforts in the autumn were at this track so entitled to play a part now returned to this venue.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-6| J: C J Orr(5)| T: Mrs D A Love| OR:  105

Sole win was in 2016 and although not disgraced with a few placed efforts this winter, the feeling is she has to eke out a bit more to get back in the winners enclosure.

Fruits Of Gloryh,t70
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: A W Short(5)| T: E Cawley| OR:  99

Leopardstown third over Christmas puts him in the mix but poor win ratio and sole victory was gained in 2015.

Grey Atlantic Wayb19
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-10| J: C P McNamara(7)| T: E Linehan| OR:  95
3/1
Still a maiden but plenty of decent efforts last winter and personal best when third, just behind Pilgrim Way on latest. Place claims once again.

Forecasts

Grey Atlantic Way (3/1), Pilgrim Way (6/1), Lucky Icon (6/1), Bridge Native (7/1), Smithscorner (7/1), Scheu Time (8/1), Vocarium (10/1), Ozzie's Way (12/1), Fruits Of Glory (16/1), Killacolla (16/1), Lean And Keen (25/1)

Verdict

SCHEU TIME wasn't up to landing the Aintree handicap on National Day which was his target but this represents a drop in grade and it will be disappointing if he can't take a hand in the finish. If Pilgrim Way has recovered from his excellent recent run following a long break he has to be taken seriously with Smithscorner completing the short lost at a track he likes.
  1. Scheu Time
  2. Pilgrim Way
  3. Smithscorner
