Useful performer on the Flat/All-Weather for Archie Watson and now for Neil King, retains his ability and won a Class 3 handicap at Lingfield in March. Looks very well treated for handicap debut here and as long as it stays quick, is a big player.
Back to form when a winner at Taunton last time out, and was a C&D winner here earlier in the season, so handles conditions fine. Another 7lb rise for latest win means he has more to do, and he is upped in grade, but has chances nevertheless.
Almost got off the mark at Southwell two starts back when going down by a neck to Cardigan Bay, but below that form the week after at Fontwell. Possible that race came too soon for him but new mark has kicked in now, so will need more.
Never the easiest to catch right, as last two runs ably demonstrate, running well at Taunton but then made 6-4f at Southwell, only to finish tailed off. Ability is there if he puts it together, but whether he will is anyone's guess.
Definite signs of ability in novice hurdles against some useful opponents but has been disappointing on both handicap starts, finishing off weakly again last time after trying to make all. Suspicion is there's better to come, so not discounted.
Easy winner at Uttoxeter in February but disappointing he couldn't do better when made favourite at Southwell last time. Possible the drop back in trip may help, and yard do well this time of the year, but others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Hattaab (2/1), Petite Jack (10/3), Nachi Falls (5/1), Mercer's Troop (6/1), Texan Nomad (7/1), Rowley Park (12/1)
PETITE JACK simply looks too well handicapped on his Flat form to ignore, and as long as the ground stays on the quick side, he could be hard to beat. Rowley Park hasn't fired yet but there's surely better to come if you take his novice hurdle form at face value, and he rates the danger. Texan Nomad and Hattaab both come into this in decent form and have chances. Mercer's Troop needs to prove he stays this trip and Nachi Falls is too inconsistent.
- Petite Jack
- Rowley Park
- Hattaab
