Only Horses And Fools Syndicate Maiden Hurdle

Useful performer at his peak on the Flat (rated in the 90's) but seemed in decline last year, and two starts this year haven't seen improvement. Early unseat at Plumpton last time won't have helped and what ability now remains is open to question.

Moderate on the Flat and no better in two hurdles starts, beating only a couple of horses home in two starts. Could be a weak handicap to be won with him somewhere this summer, but this looks too hard.

Had clearly learnt plenty from debut when third at Taunton last time out, staying on steadily from the rear to hit the frame. Will want further in time but wouldn't need much more than that to find himself in the places again here.

Looks the form pick for this after his close fifth over C&D last time out, and although that was a modest race, this is arguably worse and a repeat may simply be good enough. Should improve anyway, and clearly the one to beat.

Had ability on the Flat for Roger Charlton, winner of a mark of 74 at Wolverhampton last November and should make a hurdler. Needs it to stay quick but if he can jump fluently on hurdles debut here, has place chances.

Sprang a 25-1 surprise at Larkhall in a maiden point-to-point in January but the rest of her form suggests that was something of a fluke, and she's got plenty on her plate here.
