Doyen mare out of a half-sister to useful hurdler/smart staying chaser Mendip Express. Represents a yard which has had plenty of success here, so needs a market check on racecourse bow.
Just a modest maiden on balance over hurdles, but tends to give her running, and runner-up over C&D in January. Solid place claims, but clearly vulnerable to something less exposed.
Placed between the flags, and better effort over hurdles when fourth of 11 to Miss Delighted in mares novice at Hexham last time. Won't need to improve much to get involved here.
Showed some ability in bumpers, but quite free-going, and hasn't developed as expected since sent hurdling in a hood. This is an easier task that she's been facing, though, so she may do better.
Bred to be decent,. and cost £115,000 last year after winning a point-to-point. Disappointed on hurdling bow, but has since had a breathing operation, and no surprise to see her leave that behind.
First foal of a half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser Gift of Dgab. In frame on all four starts in point-to-points this year, and looks the pick of a pair from her yard now embarking on a hurdling career.
Not long with current yard, and improved when third of 9 to Thelongwayaround in a maiden at Sedgefield last time despite meeting trouble. A repeat would give her strong place claims.
Forecasts
She'sasupermack (5/2), Jessiemac (7/2), Miss Batten (7/2), Moylass (5/1), Jupiters Way (11/2), Mandy's Quine (25/1), Island Mahee (25/1)
A weak race with a few having shown a similarly modest level of form. The pick of those might be She'sasupermack, who improved when third at Sedgefield last time, but it will be disappointing if the well-bred MISS BATTEN can't do much better than she showed on her hurdles debut at Hexham, and she gets the vote to prove that form all wrong. Jessiemac is exposed but has solid form over C&D and should make the frame again, while Moylass looks the pick of a trio from the Stuart Crawford yard.
- Miss Batten
- She'sasupermack
- Jessiemac
