Won an amateur riders' hurdle at Perth just over a year ago, but mixed results since, and just a respectable sixth of 14 to Shanroe Al C in corresponding event last time.

Little bit below her best at Haydock last time, although that was in a competitive affair, and she has been very consistent on the whole over hurdles without winning. Takes a marked drop in class here, and should go close.

Top Of The Charts51
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-10| J: R P McLernon| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  102

Best effort in this sphere when fourth of 5 to Trixster in novice at Kelso in January for Warren Greatrex. Just modest form in three runs for current yard, and needs to step up if she's to score here.

Rather inconsistent of late, but bounced back to his best when winning a weakly-contested novice handicap at Musselburgh last time, making all. Not certain to be in the same form now.

Black Spot Onb9
Age: 12|  Weight: 11-9| J: Danny Mullins| T: R McNally| OR:  101

Out of sorts in the winter, but this veteran took a big step back in the right direction when fourth of 15 to Shantou Warrior at Sligo last time, making the running. Claims if he can build on that.

Paddy Melia176
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Steven Fox(5)| T: D Bourke| OR:  100

Well held on first two starts but signs of improvement when fifth at Clonmel in November for Leslie Young. Filled the same spot last time, and now starts out in handicaps for a new yard. Market check recommended.

Green Zone17
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Henry Brooke| T: Miss L Harrison| OR:  97| BF| D
16/1
Admirably tough performer who has won 10 races, most recently at Newcastle in December. Has quickly fallen back to that winning mark, and not one to dismiss despite a lesser effort at Carlisle last month.
8

Diamond Rock45
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Rachel McDonald(5)| T: A M Thomson| OR:  97| BF
16/1
Won over fences for Henry Oliver at Stratford in October. Poor form since, including on debut for current yard, but was well backed on that occasion, and better was clearly expected. Reverts to hurdles now.

Wild Samb11
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-11| J: C O'Farrell| T: I Jardine| OR:  89
6/1
Much his best recent effort when third in a 2m4½f handicap at Newcastle last month, but didn't really build on that when fifth at Perth last time, and others more appealing again.

Horse silk
Airdrighp,t13
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: Mr Dylan Johnston(7)| T: S R B Crawford| OR:  80
12/1
Runner-up in a 3m handicap hurdle here in January, and place claims on that evidence, but fell over fences here next time, and readily held in an amateurs' hurdle at Perth on his latest start.

Buckeye Shan16
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-0| J: S Bowen| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  76
5/2
Just poor form for Sheila Lewis, but attracted market support when making debut for new yard after a break at Plumpton last time, only to fall. Not taken lightly now, and market will tell a story.

Horse silk
Left Backt29
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-0| J: Lucy Alexander| T: N W Alexander| OR:  74

Has made little impact under Rules, and back over hurdles after a series of unconvincing efforts over fences last season.

Cadorep58
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-0| J: Grant Cockburn(3)| T: Mrs L B Normile| OR:  68| C
100/1
Retains some enthusiasm, but isn't the force of old, and makes no appeal from 10lb out of the weights here.

Forecasts

Buckeye Shan (5/2), Top Of The Charts (7/2), Rubytwo (6/1), Wild Sam (6/1), Le Braye (8/1), Airdrigh (12/1), Green Zone (16/1), Black Spot On (16/1), Diamond Rock (16/1), Im Too Generous (20/1), Left Back (40/1), Paddy Melia (50/1), Cadore (100/1)

Verdict

Not many appeal here, and this looks a good opportunity for RUBYTWO, who was fourth in a better class contest at Haydock, and is a reliable sort. Buckeye Shan is having just his second start for Peter Bowen, and is one to note in the betting having fallen on his stable debut before things got serious. Green Zone is back to his last winning mark, and wins in his turn, so can't be ignored.
