Has had his attitude questioned in the past taking a long while to get off the mark over fences; finally put it all together at Ludlow (3m, good) in February. Found out in better company after that winning a match over C&D last time; should go well.

Dual winner in the autumn over fences but has found life tougher since then off increased marks most of the time. Failed to jump well last time but this course winner has slipped back below his last winning mark by 2lb which gives some hope.

By far his best efforts last season came at Ludlow over staying trips jumping much better than usual on the second occasion to win off a 6lb higher mark. Only run twice since then in a couple of tough events; failed to stay in the Scottish National.

Marquis Of Carabasp19

Looked to be on a slippery downward slope prior to being given a winter break stopping the regression last time at Cheltenham. Potentially well handicapped if he can build on the last run; cheekpieces now reappear in a bid to end the losing run.

Lord Bryant16
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: S Bowen| T: P & M Bowen| OR:  126
7/2
Made the most of an easy lead and a drop in trip to score at Newton Abbot last time having slipped below his last winning mark. Yet to win over this trip (0-6 at 2m7f plus) and has a 5lb higher mark to cope with; likely to set the pace once more.

Forecasts

Tommy Silver (10/11), Lord Bryan (7/2), Beau Du Brizais (11/2), Marquis Of Carabas (8/1), Exitas (10/1)

Verdict

None of these are what you would call bombproof with all of them having question marks against them of one sort or another. TOMMY SILVER appears to have found his level in this grade and he’s not been raised in the handicap for winning a C&D match last time out. Beau De Brizais will be happier over this trip and at this level than when failing to get home in the Scottish Grand National while Lord Bryan will prove dangerous if he lasts home, he could get an easy lead. Both Exitas and Marquis Of Carabas have a little to find with the latter needing to build on his Cheltenham promise last time having looked regressive.
  1. Tommy Silver
  2. Beau Du Brizais
  3. Lord Bryan
