Has a perfect 2-2 record on the AW (Fibresand at 6f) in minor events but has to prove that she can cope with a different surface for her first try in a handicap. Looks a tough sort who should be effective; likely to go close despite dropping to 5f.
Some mixed form as a two-year-old including in handicap company with the highlight being a Thirsk win over 5f on his third start. Gelded over the winter he may well have needed the run on his return but did finish well held in the end.
Fared well here in the past with two C&D victories to her name the latest in January off a 5lb lower mark. Ran a respectable race over 6f here last time but looks exposed in comparison to a couple of these; solid run expected without winning.
Made her debut here over 6f (held back by inexperience; finished runner-up); dropped down to try 5f last time maintaining her overall level of form. Failed to get the best of runs last time; appeals as improver taking in a handicap first time.
Lost his way towards the end of last year; finished well held on his handicap debut in a Wolverhampton 6f nursery. Well held on his reappearance he still looked rather below-par; needs the first-time visor to work the oracle on his second run here.
Makes her seasonal debut having run five times last year without any real success including in a couple of 5f nurseries. This will be her Tapeta debut off a career-low mark but she still faces a stiff task against a couple who are sure to improve.
Forecasts
Inspired Thought (10/11), Wise Words (7/2), Klopp (4/1), Raypeteafterme (11/1), Murqaab (18/1), Heartstring (33/1)
The form horse in this is without doubt Inspired Thought who drops down to 5f and changes synthetic surfaces which does leave a doubt or two about her effectiveness. There may be a little more value in siding with the handicap debutante WISE WORDS who should fare better in this sphere and come from a stable who have made a good start to the season and have a 3-8 record at Newcastle with handicap debutantes of this age. Klopp has demonstrated some sound form over the winter winning twice over C&D but looks rather exposed now with Raypeteafterme and Murqaab needing to step forward on what they have achieved so far.
