Won Navan mile maiden on debut for Aidan O'Brien last year and was second in Cork listed contest. Has run badly on each of three starts so far for current yard but handicapped slow to ease up. Connections reach for first-time cheekpieces.
Genuine AW handicapper who has scored twice this winter, including over C&D penultmate start off 2lb lower mark. Second at Yarmouth last time but better here and has to come into the reckoning.
Stable companion of Nonios and has top jockey booked. Useful performer in the past but dropped to lowest ever mark despite win here over mile in December. Trip stretches his stamina to the limit and will likely be saved for customary late run.
3-5 of late, all wins coming over 1m2f at Lingfield, most recently holding on well to last out by a neck off 90. 3lb higher now but in great heart as he bids for the hat-trick and he should be right on the premises.
Won three last term including two handicaps here; one over a mile the other over C&D. Good effort when runner-up at Ripon recently om first start since August. Could be more to come and has big chance with former champion on board.
On losing streak of 19 since Haydock mile handicap win last July. Fair fourth at Epsom last week but handicapper appears to know where he stands with him and will do well to score here.
2-7 at this track and scored over C&D in May last year off 4lb lower mark for William Knight. First start for in-form yard having run well enough for a long way here last month on reappearance.
Won mile Newcastle novice stakes for Mark Johnston last term before landing 1m2f h'cap there in November for current yard. Shaped well in red hot handicap there again last time before finding 1m4f a step too far. Dangerous back at this trip.
Forecasts
Poet's Prince (2/1), Big Kitten (5/2), El Ghazwani (3/1), Nonios (8/1), Mythical Madness (10/1), North Face (16/1), Secret Art (25/1), Calling Out (66/1)
This very competitve handicap may go to POET'S PRINCE who ran very well when second at Ripon on his reappearance. Dangers abound, with Big Kitten feared back at this trip and in-form El Ghazwani sure to go well in his hat-trick bid. The Simcock-trained pair of Nonios and Calling Out also have claims, while old Secret Art is worth a market check on debut for Gary Moore.
- Poet's Prince
- Big Kitten
- El Ghazwani
