Not the most reliable type but capable on his day as he proved last time out when getting the race run to suit at Chelmsford over 6f. 3-17 on Fibresand including a win over C&D; he's not certain to reproduce his last time out form.

4/5
Ridden by this claimer off a basement mark on his stable debut last time over 6f here to claim his first win for ages (well backed). Still well treated on his old form although this trip may just stretch him (0-17 beyond 6f); still a contender.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-2| J: Sean Kirrane(7)| T: R Brisland| OR:  49| C
14/1
Returned to form from out of the blue last time springing a 50-1 surprise on her Fibresand debut in a 1m handicap. All out to hold on after poaching a lead early in the straight her record is hardly a sound one; will struggle to follow up.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-2| J: Sean Davis(5)| T: K Dalgleish| OR:  47
7/2
Fascinating contender who is back with his former yard who coaxed two victories out of him; finished second on his only previous Fibresand start. Operates off a basement mark with a capable apprentice on board; positive market move should be noted.

Diamond Pursuit27
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-2| J: Gabriele Malune(3)| T: I Furtado| OR:  45| D
33/1
Comes here on a long losing run and it's hard to say that her recent form has looked as though she is going to end that run. If anything her last run has suggested that she would be extending it; always behind over 6f here last time.

Age: 7|  Weight: 9-2| J: E J Walsh| T: Emma Owen| OR:  42| D

Won twice last year (would have been three wins but for one disqualification) on the AW but his previous form here is only modest (0-6). Out of sorts at the moment despite various headgear changes and make very limited appeal.

Excel Mate53
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-2| J: S Donohoe| T: S R Bowring| OR:  42

Ran poorly here on her only previous visit (first run back from a wind op) over 5f and hasn't shown anything since then in two further starts. Hard to build a cogent case even in this basement grade and others appeal more.

Kavora70
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-2| J: Aaron Jones(3)| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  46
25/1
Ran one of his better races last time back down to 6f on the Wolverhampton Tapeta but has only one experience of Fibresand (well held over 1m). Far from certain to reproduce his form from last time; has place claims if he does.

Major Crispiesp10
Age: 8|  Weight: 9-2| J: A Elliott| T: Ronald Thompson| OR:  47| D
20/1
Unreliable sort who has become very hard to win with the wind surgery that he had in the middle of last year making little difference (0-8 since then). Well below form last time and not one to be relying on too much.

Only Ten Per Cent19
Age: 11|  Weight: 9-2| J: Alistair Rawlinson| T: J R Jenkins| OR:  45| CD
33/1
Has six course wins to his name (three over this trip) although those would be lost in the mists of time; the last came in March 2014 when he was rated 65. Unable to get anywhere near that form now; modest second last time, has to follow up.

Plucky Dipp1
Age: 8|  Weight: 9-2| J: Laura Pearson(7)| T: J Ryan| OR:  40| D
20/1
Took back-to-back events in 2018 both turf handicaps over 7f but has looked out of sorts of late with and without headgear. Makes his Fibresand debut here (limited appeal). Engaged at Chelmsford (5.45) Tuesday first.

Prince of Time15
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-2| J: Dylan Hogan(5)| T: Mrs Stella Barclay| OR:  49| CD
33/1
C&D winner who has struggled for any form since winning three 7f handicaps in the spring of 2017 when rated a lot higher. Did shape as if he would be better for the run when back from a break last time; not out of this on past form.

Westfield Wonder10
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-2| J: Robbie Walsh(7)| T: Ronald Thompson| OR:  41
100/1
0-21 is the score so far on the Flat which is hardly inspiring even in a low-grade race such as this. Ran no sort of race at all last time and even in this basement grade makes very little appeal.

Verdict

Hardly a race to get heavily involved in if you are investing but there are one or two interesting angles one of them being the return of CLIFF BAY to his former trainer after losing his way with Kenny Johnson. He’s shown himself capable on this surface and it would not be a surprise to see market support for him. Ticks The Boxes and Tellovoi are both worthy of a mention as last time out winners although the trip may stretch the former. Rock In Society paid for his strenuous exertions last time but ridden with a little more restraint he much have a part to play along with Prince Of Time if he can back up his last run.
  1. Cliff Bay
  2. Rock In Society
  3. Prince of Time
