Fibresand newcomer who has two Kempton AW victories to his name from last year; very much looked to need the run on his return over the same C&D his wins were over. Mark looks a little high now and needs to find more especially making his debut here.
2-10 on Fibresand although both those wins came over 6f; has won over this trip though but on this surface the distance can stretch his stamina. Shaped well enough last time (better than on seasonal debut); has work to do with Bond Angel though.
Four-time course winner (two over C&D); did well to win her penultimate start over C&D (had to work hard having been caught wide) with two of today's rivals behind. Faced a similar scenario last time but couldn't overcome the impost this time around.
Useful sort as a juvenile but hasn't progressed at all since he's been handicapping and is becoming very disappointing. Often slow away and hangs (to his left); far from a reliable proposition, easy enough to find other options.
C&D winner but the lengthy losing run has been extended even further of late (behind Bond Angel the last twice). Usually runs his race though but turned in a below-par effort last time; hard to see him reversing recent form.
First run for his new yard (formerly with Marco Botti); gets his first taste of the Fibresand back from a fair absence. Consistent enough last year he's still to win a race and given that factor and his lack of track experience he's best watched.
Four-time C&D winner whose latest success here came off the back of some moribund displays although he did take advantage of a much-reduced mark. Two sound enough efforts since (behind Bond Angel both times); hard to write off given his form here.
Resumed winning ways when taking a C&D handicap in February (first win since 2014) dropped into 0-55 grade. Has run well enough since then in better company although his last effort was a below-par one; looks to face a stiff task again.
Forecasts
Bond Angel (5/2), Muqarred (11/4), Mujassam (5/1), Majestic Moon (6/1), Directory (17/2), Baron Run (9/1), Blacklooks (33/1), Flora Tristan (33/1)
Five of this octet have won here before and it’s that group that expected to provide the winner with BOND ANGEL having the measure of Muqarred and Majestic Moon on recent starts. She’s not had the best of passages through her races of late and given a better trip here she should confirm the form from those two runs. Mujassam is another who has work to do with the selection and once again his stamina will be tested. Baron Run would need to step up on his recent form here with this grade just proving a step too far for him. None of the Fibresand debutantes make much appeal against this hardy band of Fibresand campaigners.
- Bond Angel
- Muqarred
- Majestic Moon
