Won on debut at Galway, and bounced back from an unfortunate experience at Leopardstown when finishing fourth of 14 to Envoi Allen in Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, although he again showed a tendency to wander under pressure.
Snapped up by current connections after winning at Ayr for Nicky Richards in the autumn, and improved when fourth of 10 to Envoi Allen in Grade 2 event at Leopardstown in February. Should have more to offer.
From an excellent Flat family (had been in training with Saeed Bin Suroor), and showed a smart turn of foot to land an Ayr bumper on debut last month. Clearly knew his job there, but still ought to improve, and not taken lightly.
Made a winning debut in December over C&D, and improved when third of 10 to Envoi Allen in Grade 2 event at Leopardstown in February. His future lies over further in due course, but he's respected nonetheless.
Tongue tied on last two starts, and off the mark at the third attempt in a 14-runner maiden bumper at Wexford last time by ¾L from Braeside. Facing more daunting opposition here, and will do well to get involved.
Has progressed gradually with each start in bumpers, his best effort when making all to score at Fairyhouse last time by 1¼L from Mt Leinster under this rider. Vulnerable to less exposed rivals, but should give a good account.
Runner-up on first two starts, and showed an excellent attitude when winning 8-runner Listed bumper at Newbury last time by a neck from Nobby. In deeper waters here, but sure to give it his all again.
Bolted up by 22L at Ballinrobe in September, and consistent rather than progressive since, again racing freely when second to Golden Spread at Fairyhouse last time. Needs to settle better if he's to take a hand in the finish.
Just about her best effort in this sphere when landing a Grade 3 mares' event at this meeting last year. Shaped as if just in need of the run when third at Fairyhouse last month on belated comeback, but a fair bit more needed in this company.
Won her first two, including mares' Grade 2 at Leopardstown in February, and ran at least as well when third of 12 to Mcfabulous in similar event at Aintree last time. May do better still.
Forecasts
Abacadabras (3/1), Colreevy (4/1), Embittered (11/2), Santa Rossa (6/1), Mt Leinster (6/1), Beacon Edge (7/1), Golden Spread (9/1), December Second (20/1), House Island (33/1), Fire Away (66/1)
SANTA ROSSA can strike a blow for the mares in this valuable bumper, having shaped really well at Aintree on her latest start. she looks more straightforward than Cheltenham Bumper fourth Abracadabras, and Embittered could be the best of the Gigginstown contingent having finished third despite a troubled passage behind Envoi Allen at Leopardstown in February.
- Santa Rossa
- Embittered
- Abacadabras
