Third in a slowly-run bumper on debut but two runs on the Flat have yielded little. Visor on today but still hard to fancy against one or two promising types.
Good looking individual that made a big impression on debut at Nottingham, finishing third, and then won a maiden back there in November. Looks just the type to do even better this year, and a big player here if handling the surface.
Cost €90,000 as a yearling, and a half-brother to numerous winners. Only minor promise to be taken from his Doncaster debut and looks best watched for the time being.
Bred to have some speed about him but started off over 10f at Redcar earlier in the month and ran well, staying on late under hands and heels. Place chances at worst if improving a little on that.
Sister to Group 3 winner Dandana, also winners Semeen and Zeelander. Trip should be ideal and given that breeding, she may be useful. Market will guide as to what's expected, but has chances on debut.
Likely to want further than this in time and was well beaten at debut at Thirsk earlier in the month. Needs to improve plenty on that to take a hand here.
Forecasts
Surfman (1/8), Persian Beauty (5/1), Frequency Code (18/1), Smeaton (33/1), Theatro (66/1), Shamitsar (66/1), Put The Law On You (150/1)
Persian Beauty comes from a winning family and will probably score herself at some point, but she may find SURFMAN too good for her tonight. He took the eye in the paddock at Nottingham on his debut and it didn't take him long to get off the mark after that. Looks sure to do better this year. Smeaton may be best of the rest.
