Contesting decent races over jumps in recent seasons including when beaten 50L in a valuable handicap hurdle at Aintree (good) earlier this month. Worth a check in the market on first Flat appearance since 2015.
Dual winner last year including over this trip at Newbury (good-to-firm) in July. Gelded since finishing fourth in a valuable 1m4f handicap at Newmarket (good) in August and remains open to improvement.
Handicap mark is falling following some heavy defeats in recent starts and finds himself racing off a mark just 1lb higher than when victorious over 1m3f at Kempton in December.
Returning from a break when beaten 33L in a 2m contest at Lingfield recently. Drops markedly in grade here and interesting down in trip on return to handicap company.
Broke his maiden when taking a 1m2f handicap at Leicester (good-to-soft) last October. Gelded prior to that start and open to improvement stepping back up in distance for a top yard.
Winner over 1m4f at Ripon (good) in first time blinkers last August. Placed in a couple of hurdle races since and interesting to see how he fares on Flat return.
Completed a hat-trick when winning over 1m4f at Kempton in March last year. Struggled in the main since however including when beaten 10L on seasonal debut at Leicester (1m4f, good) earlier this month.
Winner of two of his five AW starts but pulled up in a novices' handicap hurdle at Ascot (good) in November on his most recent start. Market support would be notable on return from a break.
Forecasts
Sleeping Lion (5/4), Crystal King (15/8), Lexington Law (7/1), Inn The Bull (8/1), Dr Richard Kimble (14/1), Battle Of Marathon (25/1), All Set To Go (33/1), Throckley (66/1)
CRYSTAL KING represents a top yard who do well with their four-year-old's and he can get his season off to the perfect start with a victory in this eight runner handicap. Sleeping Lion was twice a winner last season and he can finish runner-up on his seasonal reappearance while third place can go to Lexington Law who is one of two representatives for his trainer.
- Crystal King
- Sleeping Lion
- Lexington Law
