Won seven times for David Barron, but starts out for a new trainer following wind surgery. Probably best watched on first run since July.

Nottingham winner on soft ground in October, but not to that level of form on return to that venue the following month. First run since and probably needs it to rain.

Won twice on the AW last year, but seems equally effective on turf. First run since finishing seventh of 12 at Newcastle in October.

Put some poor runs behind him when second of 12 at Catterick on final start of last season. Competes off the same mark and is 5lb lower than when last successful.

Seasonal reappearance when last of 12 on the AW at Newcastle a week ago. Will appreciate return to turf, but needs a quick turnaround in form for last year's winning stable.

First run since October when last of 13 on the Southwell Fibresand last month. All nine wins have been achieved on turf so he can be expected to do much better this time.

Not at his best at the back end of last season, but earlier form gives him prospects off this mark. Interesting if the market speaks in his favour.

Probably needed his return to action over 6f at Newcastle at the start of this month. Drop in trip is not an issue and handicap mark is fair.

Mid-division, but not beaten that far on last two AW starts. Return to turf should not be a problem and race fitness is assured.

Won on debut and performed well subsequently when trained by Michael Dods last year. First run for this trainer and seasonal reappearance, but is unexposed and is well worth a check in the betting.

Went up 7lb for winning at Redcar in September and was well held on return to that venue the following month. First run since off 1lb lower mark.

Back to winning ways when when beating Nibras Again in an apprentice handicap at Ripon eight days ago. A 6lb rise makes life tough, but this stable companion of Tathmeen has to be respected.

Forecasts

Canford Bay (9/4), Hawaam (4/1), Nibras Again (6/1), Tathmeen (9/1), Requinto Dawn (9/1), Signore Piccolo (10/1), Manshood (10/1), Boundary Lane (14/1), Zamjar (16/1), Bashiba (16/1), Angel Force (20/1), Desert Ace (25/1), Robot Boy (33/1), Secretinthepark (33/1)

Verdict

Nibras Again could be the best of three runners from his stable and is closely matched with Canford Bay on Ripon form. Secretinthepark would have to be considered if turned out again under a penalty, but the selection is BOUNDARY LANE, who has changed stables, has few miles on the clock and may well be capable of better this season. In a wide-open sprint, cases can also be made for the likes of Requinto Dawn and Signore Piccolo.
  1. Boundary Lane
  2. Nibras Again
  3. Canford Bay
