Back over hurdles after a moderate display over fences at Wexford last time (made favourite) but that was back in September and he's not been seen since. However, won this last year, so likely to be tuned up for a repeat.

Improved to win at Thurles last time out, the addition of cheekpieces seemingly doing the trick (retained here). Handicapper asks for more but trip/ground no issue and may have more in the locker now they have found the key to him.

Won over 3m at Carlisle in December (heavy ground) but since then has thrown in three much lesser efforts and he really needs to turn things around now. Probably still a few pounds too high in the handicap, and others preferred.

Lightly raced 5yo that has shown no more than minor promise so far, but unexposed and with top yard that do so well here. This trip promises to suit as well, and he has to be taken seriously.

Just 2-26 under Rules races, well beaten in two point-to-points this winter and no better in two hurdles starts since then. Trip a question mark too, and others readily preferred.

Only modest form in novice/maiden hurdles and hasn't shown a lot in two handicap starts either, but only had the seven starts and might yet improve. Needs to, in truth, and others make more appeal.

Point-to-point winner back in 2017, not seen much since then but handicapped on three runs at trips too short this winter and this step up to 3m on better ground will suit. Worth keeping an eye on in the market.

Had shown little at big prices before coming good at Limerick last time out, travelled well and stayed on best to win going away. Upped in trip but should stay, lightly raced enough to improve, and is one to consider.

Winner over shorter at Down Royal over the Christmas period, kept his form pretty well since then and again ran to form when second at Limerick last time. This trip a slight question mark though, but chance if he stays.

Arizona Boundp29

C&D winner here last August (chase) and now back on the same mark, so clearly has chances if he can bounce back to form. Back over hurdles after some moderate efforts over fences, so does need to refind best form.

Steak And Spuds27
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: Miss E Todd| T: R M Smith| OR:  90| D
20/1
Point-to-point winner last May, not shown a lot over hurdles so far but possible this trip on better ground could bring out more. Worth a glance in the market at the very least, as yard know the time of day.

C&D winner last August and although two efforts since then (in better grade) aren't quite as good, this does look a bit easier. However, others simply look more upwardly mobile, so needs plenty more.

Second over 3m at Ayr two starts ago shows he capable if he can pick his feet up, but a fall back there last time out won't have helped his confidence. Ground may be quick enough too.

Well into the veteran stage now and although his win at Hexham last year showed the fire still burns, he's coming back off an absence here and may need the run regardless.

Forecasts

Shanroe Al C (7/2), Napoleon Blue (9/2), Load Up Time (5/1), Allduckornodinner (7/1), Airdrigh (7/1), James Boru (10/1), Le Braye (10/1), Steak And Spuds (20/1), Always Tipsy (25/1), Arizona Bound (28/1), Alone No More (40/1), Top Billing (40/1), Karingo (40/1), Andhaar (80/1)

Verdict

Some unexposed types in this and of them, NAPOLEON BLUE looks a very likely one. Once equipped with some headgear on his latest start he came alive, and if the cheekpieces do the trick again, he could be hard to beat here. Shanroe Al C is another that is going the right way and should stay this trip, so has to be considered a danger. Load Up Time and last year's winner Le Braye are worth a second look, and so too is Arizona Bound, who has some form to his name here.
