Last win came over C&D in July last year off this mark. Had been badly out of form prior to encouraging 33/1 second at Newcastle recently, and reproduction of that effort would give him every chance.
Placed in five of his last six starts and has been running consistently, but appears to still be just about in the grip of the handicapper. 1-26 career record tells its own story.
Won twice at Newcastle for David Barron in autumn 2016 but has had two wind surgeries since joining current yard last year and has been struggling. Has dropped to an attractive mark however and if able to reproduce any old form would have a squeak.
Scored only win over a mile at Chelmsford in November for Jamie Osborne and is now 2lb lower. Third on three of last four starts. Makes debut for new handler with good apprentice booked.
Won at Newbury on second start as a juvenile when trained by Richard Hannon but hasn't scored since and has dropped 25lb in handicap since joining current yard last March. Returns from five-month absence so may be better for the outing.
Regressive 14-race maiden who beat only one horse home in his final two starts last autumn and hans't been seen since. Appears best at around 6f. Returns from 147-day break.
Won at Newcastle last autumn over both 7f and a mile. Usually needs a run or two to find his feet so long winter break looks a negative in his case.
Three times listed winner some years ago, including at Royal Ascot. A light of former days but did manage to roll back the years with a win here over extended 9f last time. Carries 4lb penalty and has good chance if in same form.
Only win came in mile handicap on heavy ground at Ayr in 2017 for Keith Dalgleish. Ran badly in two starts over hurdles last month following wind surgery. First start back on Flat since op.
24-race maiden but ran surprisingly well on debut for current yard when 33/1 second at Chelmsford last month off this mark. Trip suits and is one of the few in the race in relatively good form.
Only win 45 starts came over C&D in February last year but has gone close a few times since then. Clearly very hard to win with. Appeared not to handle Fibresand last time out.
23-race maiden who runs from 1lb out of the handicap. Long last of nine in classified stakes at Kempton last month having previously finished second over C&D in similar event. Obviously finds winning a major challenge.

Tha'ir (7/4), Sea Shack (5/2), Adventureman (15/2), Captain Peaky (8/1), Jeremy's Jet (14/1), The Third Man (16/1), Majeste (20/1), Mans Not Trot (22/1), Billiebrookedit (22/1), Ronnie The Rooster (25/1), Silk Mill Blue (25/1), One Liner (25/1), Quiet Moment (66/1)
A low grade affair but one in wheich the seemingly rejuvenated THA'IR can follow up his win here over a furlong further last week. A good horse in his day, he has been struggling for a year but may have his confidence back now. Adventureman was an encouraging runner-up last time and has claims on that Newcastle effort, while the maiden Captain Peaky surprised with a good effort when second last time out too. Sea Shack and Mans Not Trot are others to consider.
- Tha'ir
- Adventureman
- Mans Not Trot
