Millie The Minx18
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Danny McMenamin(7)| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR:  99| CD
11/2
Back-to-back C&D winner in November and December (soft and good to soft) but fell here subsequently and substandard effort most recently on good which raises concerns about today's conditions.
2
Horse silk
Toboggan's Fireb113
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-8| J: Henry Brooke| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  95
11/1
Still only the one hurdles win and that now over a year ago. Some of her form last winter would make her of interest off this career-low mark but recent efforts been disappointing. Blinkers added and could help.
3
Horse silk
Sultans Herop17
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-7| J: Joe Williamson(7)| T: G Boanas| OR:  94
50/1
Six-race maiden continued trend of his novice hurdles when tailed off at a three-figure price latest in first handicap. Positives hard to find.
4
Horse silk
Barnayb20
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-3| J: Kieron Edgar| T: C Ellam| OR:  95
22/1
Unplaced in six starts so far over hurdles and tailed off again latest in a Market Rasen handicap. Lots to prove over timber.
5
Horse silk
Tunnel Creekp24
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-1| J: D R Fox| T: Sean Conway| OR:  88
16/1
Only won one of 17 hurdle starts but that was off an 11lb higher mark. Slight signs of life latest for first time this season and with ground to suit well here he has each-way prospects.
6
Horse silk
Felix Mendelssohnb28
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: Sam Coltherd(3)| T: W Coltherd| OR:  87
10/3
Fair Flat performer in the past but has (so far) failed to transfer that ability to his hurdling exploits despite attracting support on more than one occasion. Hard to find many more excuses for him now in 14th hurdle race.
7
Horse silk
Hey Bobt48
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-13| J: Sean Quinlan| T: C Grant| OR:  86
6/1
Gained just his second win in 50 career starts latest when careering away with a Catterick seller by 14L. Up 12lb for that success here and on all known form this mark looks very harsh.
8
Horse silk
First Of Never18
Age: 13|  Weight: 10-7| J: W T Kennedy| T: Miss L C Siddall| OR:  80
8/1
Off the mark at the 43rd time of asking and gave trainer her first jump win in more than five years at Wetherby in February. Disappointing next twice but good second here latest further evidence he's in good order; respected.
9
Horse silk
Mac Cennetigt,v18
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-3| J: Miss Becky Smith(3)| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  76
7/2
Long-standing maiden but ran well over C&D latest when third (First Of Never second). Has 1¾L to find with that rival but is 2lb better off. Both of them have each-way chances here.
10
Horse silk
Painters Lad106
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-3| J: Callum Bewley| T: Mrs A C Hamilton| OR:  76WS
14/1
Hints of ability in eight largely forgettable races to date. Suspect he has more to give and this first race back after a wind-op.
11
Horse silk
Aladdin Sanet236
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-0| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: H Hogarth| OR:  69
33/1
Unplaced maiden failed to complete in four of six for this yard and the other two were a remote eighth of 10 and last of 11. Lengthy absence a further negative.
12
Horse silk
Rapid Fritzt33
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: C O'Farrell| T: V Thompson| OR:  58
125/1
Placed six times from 41 starts, but remains a maiden. Pulled up in four of his last five starts, so can't see that status changing here.

Forecasts

Felix Mendelssohn (10/3), Mac Cennetig (7/2), Millie The Minx (11/2), Hey Bob (6/1), First Of Never (8/1), Toboggan's Fire (11/1), Painters Lad (14/1), Tunnel Creek (16/1), Barnay (22/1), Aladdin Sane (33/1), Sultans Hero (50/1), Rapid Fritz (125/1)

Verdict

Frankly a very weak contest and with that in mind a chance is taken despite her latest disappointment on dual C&D winner MILLIE THE MINX. Toboggan's Fire could go well if blinker spark a revival and after some signs of life latest Tunnel Creek is also on the shortlist.
  1. Millie The Minx
  2. Toboggan's Fire
  3. Tunnel Creek
