Promising sort judged on his first run last December over 7f at Newcastle keeping on well to be nearest at the finish. Stable have made a good start to the Flat season; only question mark is the surface (by a sire with a poor record on Fibresand).
Two runs to his name so far although rather disappointingly he didn't go forward from his debut run although he looked a sharper tool second time up. Back to 7f now for his qualifying run facing a test on the Fibresand for the first time.

Lightly-raced maiden (four runs as a juvenile) and handed a stiff handicap mark for his nursery debut (ran poorly) on his final run last year. Ran his best race making his Fibresand debut over 6f wearing cheekpieces (first-time); not out of this.
Newcomer to the Fibresand from a yard who do well with their runners here. Well held on his only run so far over 7f at Redcar and a fair bit more to do here to get competitive; others appeal more.

Hooded for his debut at Newcastle over 7f in October he offered little after taking a strong hold. Steps out onto the Fibresand for the first time but likely to be a longer term project having had wind surgery.

Two runs last year as a juvenile with her debut over 7f at Thirsk showing little promise. Did a little better on her second start but in reality it's only poor form; now tries the Fibresand for the first time.

Forecasts

Cape Victory (1/3), Chance Of Glory (6/1), Ollivander (7/1), Parallel World (16/1), Secret Footsteps (25/1), Baby Maureb (33/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly strong event and on paper it offers Cape Victory a good chance of victory after he showed plenty of promise in his one outing last year. His stable has started the season in good fashion but his sire has a poor record on the surface and that leaves doubts about his chance especially at a short price. OLLIVANDER has at least sampled this surface before and that gives him a chance of getting off the mark here. Chance Of Glory is probably the only other runner who enters the equation here coming from a top class stable although handicaps may show him in a better light after this outing.
  1. Ollivander
  2. Cape Victory
  3. Chance Of Glory
