Definite Article gelding having his second career start having shown nothing on his racecourse bow when tailed off in a Southwell bumper last month. Hard to see hurdles making enough of a difference for him to figure.
Landed Flat handicap hat-trick at up to extended 1m3f last summer but hasn't looked a natural jumper in two starts over hurdles including at Southwell over this trip last time. Not one to give up on just yet but much more needed.
Fair second in Southwell novice hurdle last summer thenr an poorly only subsequent start at Worcester in late-June. Not seen since and has undergone wind surgery. Fair chance if breathing has been corrected and he's fully fit follwing break.
Two starts so far, both in bumpers, and has shown very little to write home about on each occasion. May improve for jumping hurdles but is impossible to recommend on what we've seen so far.
Fair placed form over hurdles last season then underwent wind surgery. First start back when third at Aintree in October then well beaten at Bangor. Proper chance if back on song but has questions to answer. First time tongue-tie.
Cost €135,000 after finishing second in good Punchestown bumper. Third in November 2017 hurdle. Absent a year prior to modest effort at Bangor in December. Debut now for new yard following wind op and wears first time hood and tongue-tie.
Beaten only two horses in three races back in 2014 showing very little sign of ability thus far. Impossible to fancy after nearly five years off the track.
Forecasts
Present Ranger (5/6), The Butcher Said (6/4), Court Out (10/1), Bartholomew J (12/1), Dorado Dollar (40/1), Minnie Mustang (100/1), Article Of War (100/1)
All of these have something to prove and most have had issues in the not too distant past, but if the tongue-tie helps his cause then PRESENT RANGER may finally start making up for lost time. The Butcher Said was an expensive purchase who has yet to fulfill his bumper promise but has been found a fair opportunity to show a bit more, while of the rest Court Out and Bartholomew J are not out of the reckoning.
