Had wind surgery following a 9L fourth in a 3m6f cross-country contest at Cheltenham (good-to-soft) in December 2017. Fair 40L sixth over the same C&D last month on his return from over 12 months off the track.
Winner of two of his last three starts including over an extended 3m4f at Taunton (good-to-soft) last time out. Raised 4lb for that victory and is one for the shortlist on this occasion.
Attempting back-to-back victories when pulled up in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter (4m2f, heavy) on his penultimate start. Better effort when third subsequently and races off a mark 4lb lower than for his latest success.
Course winner put a couple of non-completions behind him when finishing 1L second over an extended 3m4f at Taunton (soft) last time out. Interesting runner racing off a 2lb higher mark.
Course winner was beaten 35L when finishing last of three in a 3m handicap chase at Ludlow (good) earlier this month. Probably best watched at present.
Improving with racing since returning from a break and finished a decent 15½L sixth in a 3m handicap chase on soft ground here two weeks ago. Interesting having won off a 5lb higher mark in the past.
