Verdict

Backers may well need a drink before whilst trying to work out this bumper where none of the quartet of protagonists have seen the racecourse before. That would make Keith Dalgleish’s TONICNGIN an appropriate winner, the trainer has a good record with newcomers especially here in Cumbria. Dartmoor appeals as the main danger despite Jonjo O’Neill not having had a debut bumper winner at Carlisle; his sales price and pedigree mark him down as looking as though he has ability. The Godolphin cast off Connective shades the minor placing over Mannochmore with the trainer of the Dylan Thomas gelding not having had a bumper winner this season.
