Better on AW than turf and returned from some respectable efforts at Meydan with a Dundalk win last week. Can refuse to settle but drawn well for his attacking tactics and we may not have seen the best of him yet.
A winner of three of his last five starts, most recently a claiming race at Newcastle. Has a bit to find at these weights though and his wide draw tempers enthusiasm.
Sole win in 15 AW starts came over C&D but his losing run is mounting up and looks sure to be up against it on these terms.
Goes well at this venue and has only finished outside of the first three twice in eight starts, including three 5f wins. Hasn't won over 6f since 2014 though and this trip stretches him; opposable from a wide draw.
Has won four of his five starts on AW including a C&D Listed win last time and that effort is probably worth upgrading given his wide passage throughout. A repeat of that shouldn't see him too far away but will need another career best to win.
Form of his Chantilly win last time has been franked by the runner-up winning in Listed class subsequently. Placed in Group 3 company prior to that and looks progressive at present; interesting French raider.
Bounced back to form with a 6f win at Kempton last time. Not always the quickest away though, as seen here two starts back and not the most consistent type. Others hold stronger claims.
Has four wins from five on AW and this tight track suits his running style, as seen when bolting up in C&D Listed race in February. Only AW defeat was a second in this last year, trapped out wide for much of the race and can gain compensation here.
Yet to finish out of the first two in seven course starts and worth forgiving his run at Musselburgh last time when badly hampered early. Needs more to mix it in this company but not without an each-way squeak provided he doesn't get too far back.
5f Listed winner here in 2017 and usually runs well at this venue, beating Corinthia Knight two starts back before finishing a close up 5th last time. Seemingly a better horse over the minimum trip though.
Won two of his three starts for David Simcock but yet to get off the mark in eight starts for this outfit. His third behind Kachy was a respectable effort two starts back but hard to envisage him coming close to reversing that form.
Forecasts
Kachy (4/9), Forza Capitano (13/2), Encrypted (7/1), George Bowen (10/1), Alfredo Arcano (16/1), Merhoob (20/1), Stone Of Destiny (20/1), Encore d'Or (33/1), Royal Birth (33/1), Areen Heart (66/1), Alsvinder (66/1)
KACHY wasn't seen to best effect when runner-up in this last year, three-wide throughout much of the race and while he has a worse draw (8) this time around, he sets a clear standard on form and should be hard to beat. Alfredo Arcano rates as the type to appreciate a sharp speed test and he rates as the main danger from a low draw. Encrypted looks like an improving type and he won't be far away with a reproduction of his effort in a C&D Listed race in November.
- Kachy
