Won three times last year, and at least as good as ever when dead-heating with Beringer for third in the Lincoln at Doncaster last month. Meets that rival on 1lb better terms now.
Won over 1¼m at Leicester and Sandown in 2018, and ran very well when dead-heating for third behind Auxerre in the Lincoln, having to work hard to make ground in a modestly-run race. One to keep on side.
Both wins last season over 1¼m, at Ayr and York, and largely consistent in defeat later in the year. Stll 7lb above her last winning mark, though, and needs to improve to defy her rating.
Hold-up performer who won three times last year over 7f. Has run well in four starts at Meydan this year, but notably slow to stride on every occasion, and his quirks make him hard to back with confidence.
Both wins last season came over course and distance, and beaten in a three-way photo here on his final start. Remains open to improvement after just two handicap starts.
Won over 1m, 1¼m and 1m3½f at Yarmouth last season, and excuses on final start. Doesn't always look straightforward under pressure, however, and balance of his form leaves with with a bit to find.
Won over 7f here as a 2-y-o, and ran respectably in the Lingfield Derby Trial on last year's return. Below that form on only subsequent run, and gelded since. Market should guide on belated handicap debut.
Both wins last season at Salisbury on fast ground, in a 7f novice, and then showing further improvement to win on handicap bow over 1m. Has been gelded and had a wind operation since last seen, and remains unexposed in handicaps/at this trip.
Forecasts
Sawwaah (9/4), Beringer (4/1), Thrave (11/2), Bedouin's Story (6/1), Power of Darkness (7/1), Breden (9/1), Exhort (16/1), Protected Guest (25/1)
SAWWAAH has two wins and a close third in three starts over C&D, and he is open to more improvement this year having only had two handicap outings, so he makes most appeal, ahead of Beringer, who dead-heated with Breden when third in the Lincoln, but had to overcome a tactical disadvantage, and is fancied to do better now. Power of Darkness, gelded and operated on for his win since scoring at Salisbury last summer, is another with something to work on, and can go well if none the worse for his absence.
- Sawwaah
- Beringer
- Power of Darkness
