Chelmsford (6f, AW) novice winner last term also made the frame in three subsequent nurseries bowing out with a close second at Nottingham (5f). Upped 4lb to start three-year-old campaign and had a wind-op in the summer.
Chelmsford (5f, AW) novice winner at two ended the campaign with two runs in French Listed races including a close third in the first of them. First handicap here but the aforementioned third may well see him over-estimated.
Typically well-bred Juddmonte runner won in impressive fashion in a Newbury maiden last September in his second start. Third next in a Doncaster Listed race rather showed his limitations but opening mark here looks very reasonable.
Won her first two starts over 5f at Catterick and York and went close in Listed company at Sandown at two. Only beaten ½L into second of 11 on return in a Pontefract handicap last week and with that race under her belt she boasts strong claims.
Won twice last summer and although he is 0-6 subsequently he had largely been running creditably enough this winter on AW until well below par latest. Freshened up since but more exposed than most here.
Won at both Sandown and Salisbury last season, the latter over 6f on good to firm. Returned from a break/being gelded to produce another decent effort at Wolverhampton in February to finish fourth but suspect this will prove tougher.
Impressive on his first couple of starts and finished runner-up at Ripon in his hat-trick bid to one that placed in a Group 3 subsequently. Struggled in Doncaster handicap in final start although softer ground likely contributed. Bit to prove here.
Strong running-sort won two of his first three starts in novice company before proving too keen on handicap debut as he faded into ninth of 14 at Newbury. Will need to settle better this term if he's to be effective off such marks.
Newcastle (AW) winner at two had his highlight when second in York sales race earning connections £59,000 on that occasion. Second in a handicap last summer but now 9lb higher so tougher ask this time.
£75,000 juvenile; impressive 3½L winner on debut at Kempton (6f) in October (form respectable); lost little in defeat next before winning again at Wolverhampton in March (5f). First turf start here but legitimate claims if as effective.
7f Newbury maiden winner last August could only finish midfield subsequently in two novice events under a penalty for that success. First handicap here and mark not impossible but suspect this will take a good bit of winning.
Forecasts
Breath Of Air (3/1), Chapelli (6/1), Moyassar (6/1), Top Breeze (15/2), Naughty Rascal (8/1), Sheila's Showcase (8/1), Alfie Solomons (12/1), Don Armado (14/1), Yousini (16/1), Oberyn Martell (16/1), Jack's Point (25/1)
With a likely fitness edge on some of her main rivals a chance here is taken on Mark Johnston's CHAPELLI, a progressive two-year-old who was a close second off this mark on return in a trappy looking Pontefract handicap. Handicap debutant Breath Of Air who placed in Listed company when last seen is most feared of the rivals and Moyassar is another on the cusp of being Pattern class.
- Chapelli
- Breath Of Air
