Five-time winner has failed to last home in previous forays over 7f. Back to his last winning mark under a rider who has partnered a couple of winners and can claim 10lb, but hard to recommend given the stamina doubts.
Has two wins and three placed efforts in six starts around here. The latest was gained with plenty in hand, but she is 10lb higher and others may be better treated.
Dual course winner who gets a big pull with Nisior Donn on February form here when he raced on an unfavoured part of the course. Has improved on that in two starts since so rates a leading player.
Took this 12 months ago off 8lb lower and having had the benefit of a run. Has won on turf since but it has generally been a struggle off his revised marks.
Finished a disappointing 10th of 12 well beaten over 1m here last month on first start for new connections since leaving Robert Cowell. Jockey bookings appear to indicate A Likely Story is the yard's main hope.
Has dropped to a career low mark and responded with a solid effort last time. Cheekpieces added now and he has little to find to gain an overdue success.
Has failed to trouble the judge in four starts since last summer's Tipperary success. Made no impact on return last week and she is need of help from the handicapper.
All three wins have come over a mile but without success on nine visits to this venue. Failed to beat any rivals home in three of his last five outings but there was some improvement on his latest start.
Landed a poor race here in November off a mark of 45. Has not been disgraced off significantly higher marks since, but she still faces a tough task.
15-race maiden testing another career low mark. Showed nothing on comeback last week and others have more pressing claims.
Has run two fine races here over 6f and had a tough task in a maiden on Sunday when tackling this trip. On a nice enough mark if those exertions have not taken too much out of him.
3-33 around here off higher marks and capable of popping up when least expected. 5f would have been far too sharp last time and no surprise to see him go close.
Forecasts
Nisior Donn (3/1), Silk Cravat (10/3), Fivehundredmiles (4/1), Footsteps At Dawn (15/2), Three Majors (9/1), Hee Haw (10/1), Arcanecho (12/1), A Likely Story (14/1), Nailed On Nina (18/1), Dollar Value (20/1), Pushaq (25/1), Phoenix Lightning (33/1)
Nisior Donn has improved a great deal for Gavin Cromwell but now needs to find a lot more to defy another rise in the weights and to confirm February form with Silk Cravat who has also improved since. Arcanecho rates a danger on the balance of two good runs here over 6f but there is a worry this may come too quick after his comeback run on Sunday. Three Majors makes each-way appeal off a career low mark, but the handicapper may have the measure of last year's winner A Likely Story. FIVEHUNDREDMILES has returned better for a break and a drop to successive career low marks. Cheekpieces will not have to produce much improvement to make him the one to beat.
- Fivehundredmiles
- Silk Cravat
- Three Majors
