Looks nicely weighted on his juvenile form which included an AW victory when the likes of Cartographer, Ripp Orf and Big Tour were behind him. An absence of 28 months appeared to have left it's mark judged on his Navan return.

2-20 around here but he only beat one home on his last visit. Will be fitter this time, blinkers are refitted but facing a tough task at the weights.

Has a 4-57 strike rate and travelled nicely for a long way on his last start here. Beaten on turf since but considerably dropped in class and very much favoured by the weights.

23-race maiden has been placed here eight times. Those efforts include an excellent third to a 75-rated rival off unfavourable terms last term and his positive style of racing will undoubtedly carry him close again.

Her best performances lately have come here, but she is a 30-race maiden with improvement to find given the terms of this contest.

Triple C&D winner is not the force he was and needs to step up considerably on his last two performances. Close fifth in another claimer here in March off even less favourable terms than these today.

His last win came in this corresponding race 12 months ago when with David Marnane. Form has been poor since but yard have ended a lean spell with two winners in the past week.

Verdict

The weights undoubtedly favour KASBAH and he should get a nice tow into the race from Ar Saoirse. The latter represents last year's winning yard and he has been knocking at the door lately. Strictly at the weights he has a bit to find, but he has gone close here from the front in a similar race when facing a more difficult task than this. The selection likes to be covered up and delivered late so should find the race run to suit with the jockey booking adding signifcance. Hathiq has had problems but his juvenile form entitles him to be a lot better than this and a market move would have to be noted.
  1. Kasbah
  2. Ar Saoirse
  3. Hathiq
