Not seen out since last September, but has gone well fresh, so that's not necessarily an issue. Superb jumper that likes to make all the running, no room for error off this mark but if fit and ready, the others can't afford him an easy lead.

Disappointing in the Ultima and never really looked happy at any time. This trip probably suits him better anyway, and the return to better ground may help, Cheekpieces given a try, and this could be run to suit.

Bounced around Ascot twice this winter to record some impressive victories but nowhere near that level of form at Newbury last time, and hard to find much of an excuse. Has had a break since then, which may help, but a little to prove now.

Close second to the classy Capeland at Ludlow in December is a very good effort but sadly it's surrounded by lesser ones, and he never really got competitive in the Grand Annual. Trip a big question mark here, and yard still struggling for winners.

Below par effort in the Close Brothers handicap at the Cheltenham Festival but previous effort, when beaten 2l by Kildisart over C&D (giving the winner 2lb) is excellent form. May not want the ground too quick but big chance otherwise.

Ran right to the best of her form when second to Lady Buttons at Doncaster in December, not seen out since then and faces competition for the lead here too, so has questions to answer. Yard having winners for fun at present, though.

Likes decent ground, which she should get here, winner at Leicester in February (outclassed her opponents) but has found life a bit harder in two starts since. May be in the grip of the handicapper now, and others make a little more appeal.

Improving and has won last two starts, taking a novice handicap chase at Hereford with a bit in hand last time. However, significantly upped in grade here and has to race from a couple of pounds out of the handicap, so needs another step forward.

Forecasts

Mister Whitaker (4/1), Highway One O One (4/1), Rene's Girl (4/1), Kings Monarch (5/1), Wenyerreadyfreddie (6/1), Imperial Presence (9/1), Got Away (14/1), Tiquer (14/1), Tree Of Liberty (16/1)

Verdict

No shortage of pace on here and any sloppy jumping will be punished. Imperial Presence is likely to give it a good go from the front and to that end, needs to shake off Wenyerreddiefreddie to hold his best chance. Highway One O One is another that would appreciate an easy time of it on the lead, which he may be denied here, but there's no questioning his form, and he could go close. But the way the race is framed, it offers MISTER WHITAKER a good chance to sit off the pace and come with a late run as the leaders start to flag. If the blinkers help him race a bit more kindly, he might be the one to beat.
