Last success came off a 10lb higher mark at Chester (slightly shorter trip; amateur riders); took advantage of a falling mark. Fallen further since then but looks to be just ticking over at present; borne out by his fourth here a few days ago.
Five-time C&D winner whose latest success came in January in a similar contest (had the run of the race; beat Aqua Libre). Ran well under a penalty when trying to follow up; poor last time out over further; still well handicapped on his old form.
Course winner (7f) in 2015; ran well here on her penultimate start (second to Arrowzone), proving reliable of late whilst looking vulnerable to less-exposed players. Well below-par on Fibresand debut last time; will appreciate a return to Tapeta.
In top form at present having won two of his last four starts and looked unfortunate not to follow up his recent Chelmsford win at the same track. Failed to get the run of the race then; needs a soundly-run race to be seen at his best; shortlisted.
Two reasonable placed efforts on the Newcastle Tapeta at up to 7f without looking as though he would convert those into a win. Back on turf over 6f last time at Thirsk (finished well held); now tries 1m for the first time; not one to enthuse over.
Returns to the Flat (has been hurdling, ran poorly last time); last seen on the level in October on turf (0-3 AW). 2lb lower than for his last turf win (1m, heavy) so not badly handicapped if he were to find some zip; one to watch in the market.
Fair maiden (0-7) who has run all of his races on the AW with three of his better efforts coming here. Not totally unexposed but hasn't had much racing; looks well treated in he can rediscover some spark returned to Wolverhampton.
Has a creditable record at Newcastle (both wins there at up to 1m) and has been in good form there of late. Failed to really pass muster on Fibresand last time (modest fourth); given his form in the North East interesting back on a Tapeta surface.
Career record of 0-24 is hardly compelling although she has shown some improvement of late at this venue having been patiently ridden for the most part. Would have outside claims if reproducing her last few runs but others have sounder claims.
Lost his way on the Flat (has been tried unsuccessfully over hurdles); has slipped back below his last winning mark. Made little impact back on the AW last time over 7f here; can only be watched for now.
Dual C&D winner although he's not been successful for over a year (13 losing efforts since then). Better than the bare result last time out (likely to have been placed with a clear run); not one to get too carried away with though.
