6/5
Doesn't always put his best foot forward, but that he has done on his two previous visits to Wincanton; 5lb higher than when beating Findusatgorcombe by 1¼L over an extended 3m2f (good) three-weeks ago; the most obvious candidate.

2/1
Difficult to catch right and it's a major concern that all three of his career wins have come on soft ground; 5lb higher than when beating Goring One by 3¼L at Fontwell (3m2f, soft) in March; vulnerable on drying ground.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-1| J: Paul O'Brien(3)| T: B Barr| OR:  94
7/2
17-race rules maiden (1-4 in PTP's); rated 5lb lower than when finishing a staying on ¾L second to Mister Maker at Taunton (2m5½f, good) in November; ideally suited by a sound surface; shouldn't be dismissed in a very weak race.

Over The Archp129
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: L P Aspell| T: R Rowe| OR:  90
10/1
Eight-race rules maiden with a plethora of letters on his underwhelming CV; has fallen 13lb since allocated a handicap mark in late 2018; posted a shoddy round of fencing at Kempton (3m) last month; introduction of cheekpieces is hardly a positive.

Forecasts

Gamain (6/5), Cap Horner (2/1), Charlie Papa Lima (7/2), Over The Arch (10/1)

Verdict

GAMAIN is unbeaten in two starts at Wincanton, goes well for the 7lb claimer Chester Williams and a 5lb rise in the weights for his recent course success (3m2½f) isn't overly punitive, so undeniably rates as the standout pick. If he comes up short for whatever reason, the 17-race rules maiden Charlie Papa Lima is a confident choice to break his duck with obvious reservations about the forecast underfoot conditions for Cap Horner, and the 7yo Over The Arch making absolutely no appeal whatsoever.
