Consistent sort that has failed to get his head in six runs front over fences (second three times). Looked to have a golden opportunity at Ayr in February and disappointing that he couldn't take advantage. Well held upped to 2m4f since at Newbury.

All five career wins have come in summer months and despite one soft ground win appears best on sound surfaces. Should get that here but recent hurdles form uninspiring, must bounce back now going chasing for first time.

Has taken well to chasing with wins at Wincanton (2m4f, good) and Leicester (2m, good). Struggled in tougher race at Exeter latest however and little bit to prove again here dropping in trip.

All out to hold on in C&D event in February, beat all bar the jolly at Stratford in next start having gone up 5lb and that rival scored again next time. Low-mileage eight-year-old could have more to come.

Couple of wins over hurdles from 21 attempts, latest in November when springing 66-1 shock at Wincanton (2m4f, good to firm) off a mark of 109. Makes first foray over fences and plenty to prove.

Forecasts

Zalvados (15/8), Cracking Destiny (5/2), Paddy's Poem (11/4), All Is Good (6/1), Doubly Clever (8/1), Thahab Ifraj (16/1)

Verdict

The consistent Zalvados is sure to run his race once more and has placed in four of five starts over fences. He wasn't disgraced in a better race last month at Newbury and sets the standard here. PADDY'S POEM has progressed well in his four chase outings, winning over C&D in February. He since took second behind a progressive rival at Stratford (won again since) and looks likely to have more to offer. Cracking Destiny may be best of the remainder.
