Impressive C&D winner in December and found the slower Kempton surface against him on his follow-up bid. Has decent form off higher marks so rates a player in a race that will take little winning.
Dual turf winner for Ed Dunlop in 2017. Inconsistent since and he disappointed on his only Polytrack start. Very well-handicapped at present, will be better suited by this trip and dropped in class, but a lack of reliability reduces his appeal.
Dual winner on Tapeta for Mark Johnston is down to his last winning mark after three starts for his new yard. Shaped a bit better last time and visor added here.
Dual C&D winner whose four career victories have come in class 6 races. Today's rider has struck up a good partnership with him and this may not be the best of races for the grade. Considered on debut for new yard.
Proved much better for the fitting of blinkers when gaining her only victory last summer before running some good races in defeat. Just touched off last time and up 3lb with a three month break to overcome and no headgear.
7-56 on AW tracks but this will be his first outing on Polytrack. Strictly held by The British Lion on autumn form, but this veteran arrivers here in better shape following a Wolverhampton success from a tricky draw.
Well-bred individual gets in here on a potentially lucrative mark for his handicap debut. The concerns are a lack of racing and a tendency to hang under pressure. Has been gelded since his last run in August and the market should be informative.
Sole win came here on the turf track when with Roger Charlton. Produced an eyecatching run last time over a trip short of his best and could well build on that here off an attractive mark under a top rider.
This will be the front-runner's 12th run of 2019. Has been unable to dictate on last few starts but an inside berth helps here. Three of his eight victories have come here, including one at this trip, but he is facing better handicapped horses.
Forecasts
Rewaayat (13/8), Garth Rockett (2/1), Javelin (12/1), Zefferino (12/1), Tavener (12/1), Wilson (12/1), The British Lion (14/1), Grey Destiny (20/1), Global Exceed (25/1)
With Tavener in the lineup there should be a decent pace which will help the late closers such as Grey Destiny, Wilson and Garth Rockett. Rewaayat sets a poser given a pedigree that stands out against the rest and a mouth watering handicap mark. If a gelding operation has addressed his obvious issues then he will take all the beating, but ZEFFERINO was noted producing a much improved effort last time over an inadequate trip. It appears a wind operation has helped enormously and he has to be considered well-handicapped on his best form.
- Zefferino
- Rewaayat
- Wilson
