Not yet lived up to the billing of his 150,000 gns purchase price as a yearling but has shown some promise over C&D before now; can be keen but is still unexposed in handicaps. Needs a lot to go his way under top weight.

Showed promise on his penultimate start but reverted to type over 7f at Lingfield when last seen. Now has a bit to prove. First run since last December.

Form has been a mixed bag so far and is yet to convince this trip suits; latest start needs to be improved upon. Others preferred.

Well held in all starts so far and makes limited appeal on the evidence available.

Modest form shown so far but possible a longer tip will suit now handicapping; first try at this particular course but was outpaced near the finish on the Polytrack at Lingfield last August.

Es Que Magic13
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-6| J: L Morris| T: A M Hales| OR:  58

Better efforts since tacking handicaps and wasn't beaten far over C&D on his penultimate start. Solid claims from a 1lb lower mark this time; jockey booking also a big positive.

Eye Of The Water18
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: Raul Da Silva| T: R Harris| OR:  56

Already won a couple of modest races but held from this mark latest and has a bit to prove back over this trip. Well backed on several occasions but has already been expensive to follow.

Miss Communicate13
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: E J Walsh| T: Mrs L Pearce| OR:  55

Poor form in maidens and has been backed two moderate displays in handicaps this year; already dropping in the ratings and others make more appeal.

Zorro's Girlb17
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: Hollie Doyle| T: A Watson| OR:  55

A likely candidate to set the early tempo and possible the first time headgear can give the filly an edge. Ran well to finish second over C&D latest. One to bear in mind.

Had Zorro's Girl 3.5l adrift here last week and merits respect despite the 6lb penalty. A consistent type, the Camacho gelding is starting to justify his 70,000 gns purchase price. Prime contender in this company.

Goes well here but is up in trip and has a bit to find with Zaula from last time out; others more appealing.

Well beaten in all starts in this lowly grade and is hard to recommend despite getting lumps of weight from the rest.

Forecasts

Pentland Lad (8/11), Eye Of The Water (5/1), Fox Happy (5/1), Scandinavian Lady (6/1), Zorro's Girl (12/1), Nefyn Beach (12/1), Es Que Magic (16/1), Savoy Brown (20/1), Grandee Daisy (25/1), Zaula (25/1), Cedar (25/1), Approve The Dream (66/1), Miss Communicate (66/1), Tintern Spirit (100/1)

Verdict

A modest race can go the way of PENTLAND LAD, who is consistent in this grade and could be hard to master now his confidence has been boosted by a win last time out. Zorro's Girl is fitted with blinkers fo the first time and can make this a tougher test for the selection than last week's encounter, while Es Que Magic has improved since running in handicaps and can again make the rest aware of his presence. Eye Of The Water has ability but has also been expensive to follow.
  1. Pentland Lad
  2. Zorro's Girl
  3. Es Que Magic
