Unraced for Juddmonte and sold for 7,000gns to current connections. Gelded ahead of belated debut and likely to need further in time. Remains best watched.

9/4
Belied 33-1 price tag to score at Chelmsford on debut last August and was a bit below that when disappointing over a mile at Kempton last moth. Chance on form but has shaped as though needing a step up in trip rather than this reduction.

Son of Kyllachy whose price rose from 7,500gns as a yearling to 52,000gns as a juvenile. Trainer and jockey in very good form and likely a leading player on debut.

Battle Of Marengo gelding cost connections €85,000. Big improvement required from moderate efforts over 6f and 5f here last month.

Slade Power colt who cost 80,000 gns as a two-year-old and disappointingly failed to build on promise of Kempton debut with a poor effort at the same track. Plenty of improvement required.

Nicely-bred half-brother to three winners including Listed scorer Salateen. Cost 55,000gns as a juvenile and one to note in the market on debut.

Son of No Nay Never who cost 110,000gns as a yearling and is from the family of Dewhurst Stakes winner Distant Music. Down the field on Newmarket debut in November and only moderate improvement on AW debut last month. Much more required.

Daughter of Showcasing is bred to appreciate much further in time. Stable not noted for debut winners and others preferred.

Daughter of Kodiac out of a Kingmambo mare who cost £27,000 as a yearling. Green and well-held on October debut and remains best watched.

Rhossili Down175
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: P J McDonald| T: C Hills
5/4
Well-bred Kingman filly ran green on debut at Newbury and looked set to finish in rear before getting the hang of things and fairly rattling home for third. Well-below that in a good maiden at Newmarket but likely more to come.

Forecasts

Rhossili Down (5/4), Roma Bangkok (9/4), A Hundred Echoes (5/1), Onebaba (13/2), Charlie Arthur (20/1), Dabouk (25/1), Kodiac Lass (40/1), Gonbutnotforgotten (66/1), Bannockburn (66/1), Gonzaga (200/1)

Verdict

Should Rhossili Down return to the form of her debut than she sets a very strong standard that is likely hard to beat on her AW debut. Roma Bangkok likewise failed to build on his debut but has to be respected in this field. Dabouk is an interesting newcomer as is A HUNDRED ECHOES who represents a leading stable who are in red-hot form at present.
  1. A Hundred Echoes
  2. Rhossili Down
  3. Roma Bangkok
