Beat the useful Alfarris at York in August to gain his fifth career success. Not disgraced in the Cambridgeshire off his revised mark and stable in great form with eight winners in the past fortnight. 2-2 on the AW so a leading player here.
Scored here in March 2018 before going on to improve and land three more races including a York handicap off 1lb higher than today. Outpaced in the Lincoln on Saturday but will be more at home over this trip in a smaller field.
6-7 in 2019 including two over C&D and one awarded in the stewards office. This much tougher than recent assignments, however he has been rated higher in the past and his wellbeing cannot be questioned.
Landed a valuable prize over C&D last May. Has won off a similar rating in the past but probably better from marks below 90 nowadays. Usually needs a run to put him straight.
Won a minor novice over C&D and improved on that when splitting a useful a pair in a Listed event at Goodwood. Highly tried this year and will be more at home returning to this trip.
Had a prep race here a year ago before adding to his tally of wins at Ripon on his next start. Current mark looks taxing and others are more appealing.
Career best effort last time on AW debut and first run since being gelded. Looked a lot better than a handicapper when landing his maiden as a juvenile and could have more to offer now he's learned to settle.
This is a lot stronger than the race he won at Lingfield in February under this claimer. However a 3-6 record here (second twice) gives him greater appeal.
Forecasts
Executive Force (11/4), Main Street (3/1), Pivoine (7/2), Swiss Storm (5/1), Aquarium (6/1), Nonios (10/1), Secret Art (14/1), Mutamaded (33/1)
Executive Force comes into this with a tremendous record in 2019 but there have been signs the handicapper may be catching up with him. Regular partner Franny Norton partners Aquarium who has winning C&D form but can be hard to settle. Pivoine may have bigger prizes in his sights and Main Street is potentially better handicapped having dropped in the weights following two starts over inadequate trips. His former stable companion, SWISS STORM, was considered a Group 1 contender following an impressive juvenile success. He won with something in hand on his first AW start and his first since being gelded. He should be followed now his problems seem to be behind him.
- Swiss Storm
- Main Street
