Made favourite for his last five starts but only won the one of them, and is still 9lb higher than that here, so has to find more. Often looks a hard ride too, and despite this being a weak event, others are preferred.

Had been threatening to win a little race before coming good at Taunton last time, winning with a bit in hand. This isn't much tougher, so from a 6lb higher mark he has chances of following up, especially if a drop of rain falls.

Bit better on last two starts and might be starting to get the hang of things, seems happy going right-handed and likes quick ground, so has chances under a rider having a good season. Not discounted.

A tale of woe so far, more letters than numbers in his form and was never in the hunt at Stratford last time. This is easier but he has to find some improvement from somewhere if he's to be competitive.

Only beaten 2l over C&D in February and on the same mark here, so has his plaus points, but two unseats since then rather temper confidence. Bottom line, still a maiden after 38 starts and he can't be backed with any confidence here.

Often travels well in his races but finds very little for pressure, resulting in a strike rate of just 3 wins in 60 starts. Comes here off the back of a break too, so likely to need the run, and others preferred.

Has come back off a long absence this season to run very moderately four times, and appears to be regressing very quickly, Yard having a poo season by their standards too, and not hard to look elsewhere.

Jumping has been a bit of an issue but it was better at Huntingdon last time, resulting in a second placing. There's a race in her when she puts in a clear round and she's not out of this if it stays on the quick side.

Forecasts

Chivers (5/2), Snow Rescue (5/2), Midnight Owle (11/2), Johnny Yuma (6/1), Kahdian (13/2), Sprogzilla (10/1), Anti Cool (11/1), No No Cardinal (20/1), Bare Necessities (28/1)

Verdict

Nothing here looks a likely leader and this has the potential to be run at a crawl. If SPROGZILLA can brush her jumping up a bit then she might have finally found a race she can win, especially if she races a bit more prominently as she did at Huntingdon last time. She's worth chancing. Snow Rescue and Midnight Owle both bring some reasonable form to the table at this level and look the dangers.
  1. Sprogzilla
  2. Midnight Owle
  3. Snow Rescue
